At one time or another we've all been assailed by vegetarians/vegans for our carnivorous ways. But why is it these morons buy tons of prosessed soy products made to look and taste like meat?????

Some are actually using said product because they truely enjoy eating meat but do not agree with the use of chemicals and hormones in meat. Of course, they aren't the ones attacking folks either. Good subject though, many of these "vegans" don't truely understand how to be a vegan. It's fun tripping them up in conversation!

I haven't had a good argument with a vegan in years ,I miss that .

As for liking meat but not liking the use of chemicals and hormones, depending on where you live you should be able to find a farmer to raise a natural cow and butcher it, then split it with a friend or a few. We buy a 1/2 at a time. Of course that requires having about a 20 cu ft freezer but we only buy meat once in a blue moon or the two of us.  A vacuum sealer would also be advisable. I know, I know, I'm preaching to the choir.... 

Used to raise our own in Cali. , would go to dairy farmers and pick up a holstein bull calf or 2 or 3 for $30 a piece and raise them, never ran out of meat. Now in a rental gotta get out if it, hate buying meat at the store.

Steve, they will argue ground and airborn chemicals used in the area, where grains came from and how they were grown, it just gets weird.
Me, I'm all for it, but I am concerned about GMO's in the store bought stuff?

What I told a young vegan at work that was nagging me about eating animals. I also told her I eat salads the old fashioned way, I let the cow eat it, then I eat the cow. Other facts I dropped on her were along the lines of I did not climb to the top of the food chain to eat a salad, vegetarian is an old indian word meaning he who hunts not so well, There is a place for all of God's creatures - next to the taters and gravy!, I do not eat innocent animals - only the animals that look guilty end up on the plate! I am sure you get the idea by now!
She must like my warped humor because she asked me out to dinner at get this a steak place and said it was because she liked the salad bar. She did not complain when I ate steak at least and even tried some gravy( a very tiny bit ). I hope I corrupted her properly!

With that in mind....bacon must be like HEROIN. LOL!

Bacon IS the heroin of the meat world period. If you meet somebody who does not like nor eat bacon then just smile and move on as you wouldn't want to set off what has to be a mentally unstable human being !!! Bacon and eating it is just as anything else that is deemed " bad " for you and your cholesterol and that is it needs to be eaten in moderation when possible. I have found that by cooking only just enough for everybody to have 3 strips each then I'm OK but if there is a big pile of crispy bacon I will overdose everytime. Bacon makes anything edible even more edible and flavorful. Have you ever seen a vegan that lookks healthy ? Every single on I have ever met looks sick with pasty white skin, skinny, and weak. Given a choice if there were only meat or vegetables and you could only eat one it would be meat for me and then I can always find a leafy edible plant especially along a water supply.

I must be a sick person....youngest son came and crashed after a gig last Sat.....errr....Sunday morning.....ate me a honey bun early, then got him up around 11:00....then cooked brunch----eight eggs scrabled with butter and milk stirred in and a 12 oz pkg of bacon...

I only eat bacon with a side of ham or sausage, or with eggs, or on a cheese burger, or with pancakes, or alone, or ... It looks like I might have created a monster in my co worker! She stole some of my lines such as eating salad the old fashioned way, except she perverted it! Maybe the gravy was a gateway food after all!
