I would like to begin reloading reduced or managed recoil loads for my kids & nephews to use for hunting whitetail deer in Pennsylvania.  I have been purchasing the reduce recoil loads from Remington however they are expensive and getting more difficult to find locally. The two calibers I would like to reload are the 260 Rem & 308.  Does anyone have any suggested or starting load data?

Use a fast powder (something like Reloder 7) and use the starting loads listed in any manual. Also use a lighter bullet, (125 gr Nosler Ballistic tip for example) just don't use varmint bullets.

When my son started shooting his 30-06, the loads were more like 30-30 (Re 7, 150 gr @ 2450) then I jumped him to 300 Savage equivalents ( H335, 150gr @ 2600).

Neither round is a hard kicker, you shouldn't have any problems finding something that will work.

I started my kids and their friends with lightweight bullets, e.g. 110 gr RN's in 30 cal and 15 grs of 2400. (watch for double charges) Gives a muzzle velocity of about 1700 fps. Then I step up to a light load of 4895 to hit about 2400 fps.
Check out the type of loads recommended for cast lead bullets (Lyman cast bullet manual) but remember to cut it back a couple of grains for Jacketed bullets.
