I have lived in Alaska for the past 20 years. Two weeks ago i moved back to Maine.
In many ways it feels good to be back home again.

Why did you feel the need to down-grade your life?
I like Maine and New England and grew up on the East Coast but Alaska is home now.

My wife left me after 30 years, the dog died, and no other family in Alaska. So i came back to be with kin folk. Plus my mom is getting up in age(80's) and has cancer.

Sorry to learn about your Dog. I have yet to lose a wife, but I know what it feels like to have a Good Dog go to the "other Hunting Ground".

Yeah i miss them both, but i look at it this way. Some day i pray that the wife wakes up and returns. I'd take her back in a heart beat. I sure do miss that old dog. She will never return.
