Found out that I drew an Elk tag for 16-C, October 13-17 Rifle Hunt. Does anyone have experience with this area? Reasonable expectations of trophy quality, etc? I hunted 16-A several years ago and saw some decent bulls and 1 Legit "Gila Monster" but it just didn't come together.

Thanks

If you have a hunt in any of the 16 areas make sure you have a gun that can shoot out to 300 yards and do a lot of glassing be ready to shoot. I have hunted in and out of 16 A,B,C, D, and E before they made us draw one of the areas. If you look long and hard early and late in the day you will see some of the best Elk in the Country we have some of the best in the West. They are there good luck and have a great hunt. Be prepared for both cold and hot weather you can see it both even snow that time of year.

Thanks guys, I haven't been on here in a while. Got out to the range this week and fine tuned the 300 Win Mag. Blew up some coffee cups at the 300 yard range so I think I'm ready. Counting the days!
