Night is the time when they are all out hunting.

I like shooting them in daylight, but dawn & dusk is when I "score" the most.

Although, I've shot them at all times of the day.

Let's face it; we shoot the "stupid ones"; that is the ones that didn't make a kill that night and are still out looking to fill their belly's.

Go to extactly where you see them in full camo, including a head cover and gloves.

Pattern their movements in the area and learn how to best plan your final approach.

Otherwise, all you will do is educate them - understand, because they do !!!

Set-up in good cover with a good view, especially down wind of your location.

You would be wise to bring a low slung chair or at least a cushion, so you can remain motionless for extended periods of time.

Put a stick and strink with a turkey feather on it(any decoy will help) about 100 feet out front & upwind of your location.

Call softly until you get better...................they'll know exactly where the call is coming from, so no need to continuing calling once you see them (remain motionless).

You must see them before they see you !!!

Bring shooting sticks so you can prop your gun on them to steady your shot.

1 in 10 attempts is good for a hawk getting a mousse, so don't get discourged

Looks like i'm the minority on this poll, i have shot em in afternoon /evening but i seem to do better in the early am till about 9:00 right now my local farmers are cuttin hay so i just find me a spot on some elevated gorund overlooking a fresh cut or baled field in the am & wait , don't even bother to call , don't have to since the mowers have already hit snakes, rabbits ,field mice & such, it's a regular buffet right now.Old wiley coyote just don't realize how steep the cover charge is.

I've shot both fox and coyote following the baling machine and around corn cutting operations just make sure the farmer knows you are going to be there as most don't carry an extra pair of shorts.
