I saw a  wolf along the highway New Years Eve.  He must have known the season had already been closed around here.  The NW zone is closing today 1-3-13.

So if a wolf attacks your dog and you shoot it, the DNR officer gets the whole thing.

I heard the 75% of the late season success was the trappers.

That makes sense to me. I can't remember if I saw it on the news, or read it somewhere, but the DNR was pretty much counting on the success of trappers to reach the quota.

I never got back out after them. My friend with the tag got busy with work and couldn't go before the middle of this month and now the season is closed. There is always next season, I HOPE. The wolf lovers/antihunter are making noise about more legal action so i guess it will be wait and see.
