I AM LIVID. SOME GIRLYBOY POLITICIAN (TED LIEW) IN THE LA AREA HAS SPONSORED A BILL (SB1221) PROPOSED BY THE HUMANE SOCIETY TO END HUNTING BEAR AND BOBCAT WITH HOUNDS. THEIR CLAIM IS THAT "PACKS" OF DOGS ARE MAULING THESE PREDATORS TO DEATH. I HUNT BEARS WITH DOGS AND KNOW FOR A FACT THIS IS NOT THE CASE. THIS IS JUST ANOTHER BS ATTEMPT TO WIPE OUT HUNTING ALTOGETHER IN CALIFORNIA. THE HUMANE SOCIETY HAS ALREADY STATED THAT IS THEIR GOAL AND THEN TO MOVE STATE BY STATE TO BAN ALL HUNTING. CONTACT YOUR SENATORS, CONGRESSMEN, ETC.. TO OPPOSE SB 1221. |

Man am I glad I'm from California, not in California. When are the people out there going to allow the Department of Fish & Game to do the job they pay them for, manage the fish and game. How the bleeding hearts ever managed to start getting wildlife issues on the ballot is beyond me. The State used to not be able to skim F&G money to the general fund, it should be dedicated to the Department to do their business. Here in Missouri the people voted in a 1/8 of a percent sales tax that goes to the Department of Conservation, and the department is self sufficient, fine money goes to the schools in the district the ticket was issued and the department manages the wildlife. We have very liberal deer limits and lot's of deer. I can shoot 3 Bucks a year, 1 firearm and 2 archery. Does are unlimited, take as many as you want to buy permits for. Turkey numbers are also great. There is a lot of Conservation areas to hunt and fish. California is their own worst enemy, come on sportsmen, get you act together and fight back. Quit bowing down to the bleeding heart liberals and take back what is rightfully yours. It is rediculous to stand by and let the opposition have their way while you loose rights and priveledges. It's time to send notice to your representatives that you are tired of being knocked down and stepped on, if they don't support you get rid of them. This is just my opinion. Steve Albers |

How many gun owners and hunters are showing up at public meetings to show their strength, or calling and writing representatives on a continuous basis and reminding them who they work for? I lived most of my life in Calif. and attended a lot of meetings, in fact anything that concerned my gun or hunting rights I would make it a point to attend and to be heard. How much support from other sportsmen and gun owners did I see, very little. We all need to stand up for our rights and push back on the special interest groups and their politicans. Sorry, but the numbers game don't mean anything, there are enough sportsmen and gun owners to fill the halls, but getting them there is the problem. It's easy to sit back and say there are to many others, instead of putting yourself on the firing line and fighting back. Why do I care what they do there? Because if they win in California, they can start pushing to other states. Fight the good fight and if you get knocked down, get up and fight again... don't let them win. I am on your side, and I know you can stop these actions against your legal hunting rights. Steve Albers

When you have more liberalasses than real hunters in the larger cities where all the liberals come from .We are out numbered in CA .Liberals out number us 60%to 40% And the hunters all come out of that 40% .CA is going broke from its regulations that keep driving jobs and businesses out of the state .It will be bankrupt i n very short order .High taxes and no jobs here .And Brown want's to raise taxes . |

Welcome to the Unites Socialist State of California where the liberals are free to do whatever they want. As soon as I can transfer out of this state the better. All I need is an opening in Louisiana, Oregon, or Washington and my family and I are out a here. If these anti-hunters would put their money into conservation instead of fighting the people who pay for the conservation then there would be a lot more land available for every citizen to enjoy.

The anti-hunters don't care about conservation, they are bent on stopping others from pursuing their interests and banning firearms. If they are successful there they will find some other area to focus on, whatever they don't like isn't good. They are self-serving and incapable of thinking freely. They don't understand the prinicpals of conservation or the reason behind hunting to keep populations incontrol. As supporters of hunting and shooting sports, it is up to the sportsman to sway the fence sitters when they go to the polls, don't argue your rights with those who oppose you, teach those that don't know why you hunt, present yourself in a good light, respect others opinions and counter them intelligently. There may only be 40% that openly support, but there are another 20%+ that aren't sure which way to go, do what you can to swing them to our side and you can win. Steve Albers

Very true Salbers or we can give them a close race. It is true the antis don't give anything to help the wildlife in ours or anyother state for what that matters. The reason they take everything to the poles now is because they know we can fight them and win in the state government. They know they have us out numbered at the poles as the odds are on their side as the odds of us getting that other 20% completely are next to zero. But in any case we need to fight for our rights and the rights of the wild game we love... Another thing the DFG and other pro hunting groups never hold any meetings or hearings in Socal. Hence most hunters in the southern part of this state are not informed in time to take action on issues. Also 99% of the programs they sponsor are in Norcal. By doing things that way most of the hunters in Socal feel left out of the loop and feel the DFG doesn't care about hunting in the southern half of the state. They beleive the state only wants their money. |

Call DFG in Long Beach and ask them what issues are being addressed at public meetings and where these meetings are being held. They should have times, dates and locations for the meetings. I attended one in Bakersfield concerning deer hunting at one time. The problem is that it's hard to catch a small article or posting on the meetings when they are in the newspaper or a mag. Is "Western Outdoor News" still around, they used to include info on regulation change meetings. They were pretty good at keeping things posted for the sportsman. Good Luck, don't give up.
