Anyone here from orange county NY. Just wondering i am from there. Seeing if anyone also enjoys hunting in the area.

hunted up there years ago off 211 saw lots of deer.

Not from there, but have hunted Stewart & West Point....

how is it up there

Stewart gets a lot of pressure, so I think the hunting is tougher. Still think it's worth the drive. West Point has been good, too.....when I can get the DMP for there! Need to take a doe 1st, then you get a chance at a buck. They run a good program there.

Hows the small game in Stewart I used to bird hunt there back in the 80s took a lot of pheasant out from there.

Gets a lot of pressure too.  They stock birds there every year.  Actually had 2 birds "squawk" or whatever they do when I was at my truck putting my bow away one time!!  They were just 30 yards beyond my truck...
  Ranger said the bird hunters were seeing the deer, bow hunters were seing the birds!!
  It's an hour & "change" drive for me, but I think it is worth it.  Just have to get to the gate EARLY during gun season!

I used to see lots of deer in there,never during deer season.I would love to get up there again.
