Thought I would say hello to everyone. From Delaware OH 30 miles N of Columbus. Haven't done any hunting in some time and decided I would get back into it. Not that I didn't enjoy it but many things in my life has changed and money was very tight. Not much has changed except getting bitten by the hunting bug. Decided I would try the crossbow thing just bought a Barnett Quad 400 with the multi reticle sight. Now I have just have to find the time and a place to hunt, anyone in the area would like to hook up sometime maybe we can squeeze in some hunting for spring turkey, have been working with the pot and the diaphragm. Maybe even some deer later on in the year. Well gonna get out of here catch you all later. |

Your welcome mwiseman2, I just moved out here not quite two years ago, I grew up in Mi. but always wanted to move out here. I plan on living in Az. the rest of my days though. I'm currently on the opposite side of Phoenix from Gilbert. If you come out to visit your in-laws and they don't hunt' make sure you hit me up, always good to meet new people to hunt with. |

No problem jlowe69 elk out there is a big thing up around Payson and Flagstaff. Good friend of mine may have kept me out of jail when we jumped a few, I was young and dumb back then. Smarter now follow the law to the T way it should be lol. And yes a trip to AZ will look you up, wasn't for this house would make it easier to move back there. I love AZ, hot or not its beautiful out there. |

Yep, every time I get out to hunt I still spend half my time just looking around soaking up the view. Been up to both Payson and Flagstaff sight seeing but all I've hunted so far has been down here around the "valley", primarily in the Tonto N.F. but a few other places nearby. In fact we went yesterday ended up with three rabbits and a big ol' D-back. Still getting the hang of hunting out here compared to back there. |

We were hunting bear found a fresh trail, bear had just taken a dump berries and all in the stool warm he was close. Had to cross this road into this ravine, on this road were a few elk. I throw up my rifle and my friend starts yelling no Marty no you will go to jail. Well that was enough to spook the elk and good thing otherwise big trouble. Like I said when you are young and blood pumping you don't think. Thank god for my friend. |

We've found bear scat but haven't called in or came across any yet, the elk from what I hear are watched pretty close so your probably right in thinking your friend saved your butt. The Game and Fish officers seam to be real decent out here but the laws are strict, and a bit confusing at times. On the other hand, the G and F folks that Ive met so far act like they can see the difference between a case of "really thats what that means.?.??" and someone who is just out there blatantly poaching. Thats more than I can say for many DNR agents I've met in Mi. |

Holly I envy you wish I could head back out to AZ myself. Have in-laws there moving wouldn't be a problem except I have a ball and chain around my leg called a house. Wish I could just up and walk away from it but it isn't that easy. Am 57 so finding a job wouldn't be as easy as it was when I was younger. Take care hope to see you in some of the discussions here. |
