Nada Brian.  In fact I haven't heard of too many people getting birds around here this year.  Heck only ones I saw were the ones that walked through my yard just prior to the start of the season.

No dove season here in NY.  Nothing until September now other than fishing.

My buddy is planting sorghum and already has a bunch of doves flying around. He will be cutting it for silage right around the start of dove season. Hope it works in my favor. By the way......hi to all, it's been a while.

Can't hit near as many as I shoot at but that's part of the fun. Brian I am always trying to get here to talk.....but , okay no excuse. Took time this summer to become a certified hunter Ed instructor. Ready to have my first class, obviously not knowing when that will be due to my schedule but I am sure I will enjoy it and hope the students will too.

I haven't talked to Doc in ages, wouldn't have a clue where he is. I talk to Pipefitter once in a while and he's seems to be busy working.

Chaser, how'd you do on doves? Wifey and I didn't limit out but we should've/could've. I went through 2 boxes of shells and Amy went through 1/2 box with her single shot. Lots of fun, those doves. What a riot.

Doing mediocre on the birds.  With the air cooling a bit I think some moved off.  Have some in the freezer and soon plan on having a fry with some of the guys that let me hunt on their property.   Making some barbeque deer, pheasant, quail and dove.  The pheasant and quail are from last year and need to make room for this years adventures.  The deer is from my brother last year since I had no luck.  Oh well...... This year is just a couple three weeks out.

Went to tidy up a couple stands and found surveyors tape all around. Followed the tapes and found a couple surveyors lining up for a pipeline(gas) to go through our area. WTF.

Something like that Colleen. Our Pres called the owner who said that they are "speculating" on what the best path for the pieline is. Season starts Sat and Amy and I aren't expecting alot of action. We really worked our tails off since last season feeding and adjusting stand locations. Hey, but thats okay. Amy got her big one year before last and I've passed up some that most hunters would kill for. We're lucky Colleen. We have our memories. There is always luck. Hope your season turns out swell.

Our bow season opens up on Monday.  I'm hoping to put something in the freezer.  Hopefully you and Amy can put a few away and save on the grocery bill.  Meat is gonna be sky high because of the drought conditions.

Well, the weather cooperated, the fog cooperated, even Wifey cooperated(got up without setting the sleep button) but the deer didn't. Had one guy get a shot and missed. Out of 8 members two saw deer. We'll try'er next week.
