A friend and I were out pheasant hunting this year and the first one we shot dropped, so we wrung it's neck and threw it in the toolbox without another thought. Along we go to our next spot and get another rooster, go back to the truck to put him in the toolbox and the first flies out. Neither one of us had a gun ready, and pretty quick, he was gone. We went out and spent half an hour looking for him, never found it. We left for the next spot and got our third bird and this time i had my buddy load up his gun. sure enough the bird flew out, but we got him this time. Got back to town and I was pretty wise to these pheasants by now so I got the dog and closed all the doors in the garage and opened up the toolbox. Sure enough, the bird came barreling out, and the dog got him. Anyone else have similar problems? I never have before that day, other than one maybe flopping out of the back of the pickup, hence my toolbox.
