I have shot the 45acp, 9mm and 40cal. Hi-Point firearms are nice entry level handguns and I and friends that have owned them have not had any problems with them. The only concerns that I would have with using them as conceal carry guns is they are not light and somewhat bulky. They may be hard to conceal. Check with your state conceal carry laws. Some I understand some are very strict as far as how concealed they must be. Also if the firearm "prints" through your shirt or pants, you may loose the element of surprise if you should ever need to use the your firearm. If price is a concern, there are other firearms that may be a bit more, but not top end. Taurus is one them. I use the PT 140 40S&W caliber for carry. I would have no problems carrying the Hi-point 45acp while hunting.

Some people like them and others don't.   If that is all you can afford. It can be a good entry level to owning handguns.
IMO i would not trust it for CCW. or ccb   (conceal carry brick) For woods carry I'd rather have a dependable pocket full of rocks, to throw at a bear.  They do make a good paper weight so that your topo map does not blow of the tree stump.
I had one given to me years ago. Jammed up tighter than a teddy bears butt. Sent it in they replaced it. Time after time after time. To this day i still have it mounted inside of a block of thick plexiglass.  The carbines are a different story. Good little camp guns.

Most folks around here don't care much for them. They're too heavy for a paper weight and too light for a boat anchor.

Very good training device. For track and field events. SHOT-PUT toss.

Save a little longer and more and buy a better made handgun. Checkout www.cheaperthandirt.com and www.impactguns.com as well as www.jgsales.com and JG Sales offer used handguns ( usually police trade-ins ) at great prices. They recently recieved a batch of Glock police trade-ins and they were selling them at good prices. They also have a good selection of S&W and Taurus revolver trade-ins.

Wouldn't buy one of the pistols, but the carbines are another story. I would love one of them, especially if they came with hi-cap mags. although some of them do accept Glock mags, some of which are hi-cap.
