And here's another tip: If folks put the city/state they're in into the comment field, you can to to the "Message Board" link at the bottom left of the map and see the markers in a list mode. If the cities and states are filled in it give a clue where someone is. |

Once we get settled where ever that may be. I will post where. Right now we are renting and are moving again and then again in about 6 months. |

TWolf: You can go ahead and mark it if you wish. I can always remove it later and you can remark, your call. |

Thanks. It's a great tool to use when you're going to be traveling too. Just to see if there are folks in your route that you'd like to stop and see. Glad it's getting used. |

Thanks Kevin. For something that everyone said wouldn't be used... I'm glad I went ahead and did it.
There are 500 entries allowed for free and we're almost a quarter of the way there already.
BTW... was your signature line intended to be that long?

It's a bit of a pain to actually zoom in to any detail. I just entered Poughkeepsie, NY as the address and took that. Now if you had 50 people do the same thing, for say New York, NY as an example, then all of the icons would be overlapping and no one would be able to see anything so putting some distance between any other folks who happen to be close may be a good idea.
It's also a good idea to include your town and state in the comment field. That way when someone goes to the "Message Board" tab on the page, they can see your handle as well as the city and state where you are. Otherwise, trying to find someone is a nightmare.
There can be up to 500 markers on the map for free (we're about 20% of the way there) and I left the security measures off for the time being, but if markers start showing up in the middle of oceans or something, they will be deleted and the captcha codes will be turned on.
TTT for new folks. |

I was asked how folks could delete/change their markers. Sorry the answer is, you can't. Well, you can for an hour after placing a marker but after that, the only way to delete it is to have me do it. Makes no sense to me but that's the way the software works.
So, if you want your marker deleted for some reason, moving it, changing the info, whatever you can PM me or send me an email smcalvin at verizon dot net and tell me your 'handle' and what you put into the comment field for the marker so I can get the right one
