I bought a Ruger P-95 not too long ago to be my cc weapon. It's a great gun, but I'm having trouble seeing the sights.( damn this old age crap!) I can see them fine if I put my reading glasses on, but then my target is blurry. My nieces boy friend said that he heard someone talking about a laser sight for semi-auto's that replaces the guide rod for the slide. I beleive that a laser sight is the way to go for me, but do not want to mount a laser on the rail under the slide cause then it wouldn't fit into the holster I got for it. (or any other holster that I have seen out there.) Does anybody have any experience with this type of laser? Where I can get info on them, their approx. cost and or any info on installing one of these things. (if they even exist) Any help would be very much appreciated!! |

I believe its Lasermax guide rod laser that you're talking about. Just type that into your search and check them out. I haven't got to play with one yet but would like to. |

LaserMax is the product you're looking for. They cost about $300+. Unfortunately they don't make them for the Ruger line. http://www.lasermax.com/Products/Gu...asers.aspx |

Thanks for the info gentlemen. I guess I'll have to look for another option. Although I'm soory they don't make them for the Rugers, I would have had a hard time spending that kind of money on a laser for a gun that only cost $20.00 bucks more than the price of the laser. |

Checkout www.crimsontrace.com and buy one of their grip replacement lasers and it will work as well if not better than the Laser Max and will not effect the handgun fitting into the holster. It is both windage and elevation adjustable. |

Well, unfortunately that is a dead end also. They make them for the Ruger P series hand guns, but not for the P-95. Any other ideas out there would be appreciated. |

Maybe www.laserlyte.com and if this does not work just try Googling the words " handgun laser sights " or whatever search engine you have access to. |

Thanks Big Dawg!! Laserlyte DOES make a rear sight laser for my P-95. And the price ain't too bad either. My only concern is that it is rugged enough to withstand all of the jarring it will recieve being mounted to the slide. Thanks again!! |

I installed one that replaces the guide rod in my Glock when I first got it... Manufacturer states that it'll be within 2" at 25yds, so there's no adjustments on it, and I've got to say it's been pretty dead on... I've had this about 8 years now, and wouldn't think of getting an external laser if I didn't have to... I've also got Tritium sights on it...you may be able to see them better than what you've got, and many places can put them on for you on almost any gun...your other option is to mount a red dot on the top instead of iron sights...I've been using them for years... You can see I've got a big Eotech on my Super Blackhawk in my avatar on the left here, but many companies make small ones now for many handguns and it helps us with those "tender" eyes... a red dot on a handgun is very fast and very accurate...I have 3 handguns with red dots on them, as well as two shotguns and 2 rifles... if you want a really nice little one, check out the Trijicon... good luck. |

I would reccomend checking with your state regulations before taking a handgun hunting after installing a laser sighting device of any type. Most states do not allow laser sights or "any device that projects a beam of light in front of a firearm" to be used for hunting purposes.
Please forgive me, I re-read the original post and saw that you were talking about your CCW. |
