For that pricepoint, I would suggest Wildview 2. I have had pretty good luck with that one. I also have several Wildgame Innovations IR-2's....been hit or miss with them. Got a Stealthcam IR 5 mp that take nice pics if the deer are standing still...seems the shutter speed is a bit slower at night. And I have a cpl of the older Moultrie flash cams that have been pretty dang productive. I will have to say that the Stealthcam has the best battery life and the most sensitive motion sensor of the ones I've got. I guess, the moral of this story is, at this pricepoint, it's a gamble. |

I've had 2 Moultrie 4.0 flash cams as well as 2 Wildgame inovations IR's. For the money I'd go for the Wildgame IR's.
My flash Moultries take 6 D-cell batteries, and they eat them up pretty fast. The Wildgames take 4 C-cells, and run for a long time on them. You can find the Wildgames at Wally World for $60.00 to $70.00
I believe that you'll get better battery life out of any IR over a flash.
Neither of them have an impressive trigger speed, but for that price as far as I know you won't find anything that does.

I've had real good luck with the Primos truth cam 35. Good batt life, good picture quality. I have several more expensive cams that don't do anything better. You can pick on up for about $70 on sale.

I use 3 of the Wildgame Innovations IRs, and for the price they are pretty good cams. I also have a Moultrie IR, but the best results and the clearest pics come from my cuddyback capture that is a flash cam. I like color pics, which is why it's my favorite. |

Like rt4 said, I would go with a Cuddeback Capture. They work pretty well and the ones with the flash I believe are $100. We also use a couple of Moultries, but they seem like they take more "wind" pictures than deer pictures. |

I also have a Moultrie IR-55. My batteries have lasted about 8 months now and I still have not changed them. It take pretty solid pictures for the price. I'm really happy with it. |

An older post but interesting. I've concluded that cameras more than other hunting items demonstrate the truth of the addage "you get what you pay for". I've experienced a fair bit of frustration with the cheaper models of Wildgame, and my Moultrie sensor stopped working unless something moved with in 5 feet. I may get a more expensive cam this year, depending on tax returns etc... But I'll give the Cuddeback capture some of my attention. THX

Remember that the Capture models were priced at around $179-$200, prior to the introduction of the new models. If you can find them the Captures are great buys at around $99.00 these days. |

Well as I said in another post I have 3 stealth cams and they are on their second yr. If I remember they cost about 65 dollars each. For some reason I don't like leaving too much money laying around in the woods because people seem to borrow them and don't return them. |

I have a moultrie IR-55, you can see some of my photos in the members photo albums forum under the new cam trail post posting. I have cropped them them down to get the most of the deer i could when uploading on here, but the picture quality is great, trigger speed is great, and my battery life is pretty good. I had it set up to take 3 pictures with a 5 second delay between pictures and a 15 sec reset delay. Between the begninng of August last year through the end of November I had got well over 10,000 pictures off that single camera. I had to check it once a week with a 4GB card because of the deer movement where I set it at. The only time I ever got the butt of the deer was on pictures 2 and 3 of my 3 picture sets, the first picture always had them centered. For the money ($79 on sale at Dicks Sporting Goods) I plan on getting another as soon as I have the money! |

For the budget conscious spender...wal-marts tasco for around 60 bucks...can't be beat for the price and reliability.
