I have a great opportunity in Southern Colorado for fair sized elk and large Mulies.  We are on private in an elk migration route and have 2 heated cabins on the property.   Most of this ranch is accessible by ATV and is a great set up for a less mobile hunter or an older person who likes to watch.   There is plenty of chance for the spot and stalk, but the country is steep and at 8000 to 9000' in elevation.  This would be a semi guided hunt with all the help you need in field dressing and retrieval.  I am interested in a quality hunt within 20 hrs of Colorado  or possibly cash.

I have done many swaps and have been not trading for a few years because of the yahoos who do not know their a** from a hole in the ground.  This is a quality hunt that has averaged 70% on bulls and 100% opp on Mulies over the past 10 years.  2011 went 100% on all elk and 100% on Mule deer.   This is a family owned ranch and is only hunted by friends and family.

Please do ot respond unless you a very serious about this.  Hunting experience is not nessasary, but you being a serious safe hunter is.

ateam1994; I am interested in a swap hunt and can offer you an oppurtunity to hunt two species you don't have in Colorado. Roosevelt Elk, larger than your Rocky Mountain Elk, and Blacktail deer, smaller than your Mulies, but an elusive species that test your hunting skills. I have been hunting 51 years now (since I was 11 yrs old) and a Hunter Education instructor, NRA firearms instructor, retired law enforcement and retired military. Safety is my primary rule while hunting and handling firearms. I live in the northwest section of Washington State and tags are easy to get for non residents. Plentiful land to hunt. If this appeals to you, then I am ready and willing to communicate further. My email is:

I am looking for a big whitetail or maybe a great texas pig deer combo for two.  Maybe Elk in another place.  Antelope in NM would be great.  For this year it needs to be a little closer than the west coast.  Maybe next year we can talk about that.

I am open for suggestions as long as it is a quality hunt.

Happy Hunting and remember---
Experience is what you get, when you do not get what you wanted.

I drew a Colorado Muzzleloader deer tag for GMU 77/78/771 and am looking for somewhere to hunt. My hunting club in OK has about 80K acres under lease and we have killed some big Whitetails. We also have leases with good numbers of pigs. Let me know if this is something that you would be interested in. Larry West lawest@pldi.net

Will you have a mule deer hunt available for fall 2013?  I don't have a swap, but have cash and plan to hunt mule deer this coming fall.

Thanks,

I do not know what 2013 holds yet on our place. I may have an opening for archery or a possible 2nd season deer.(some elk in this area but it is totally depends on weather) If you are interested in putting in for the draw, we have great public lands and I know most of them. I would be happy to help direct you to a better then average deer and elk hunt on public lands here around the Durango, Bayfield area, Elk tags are pretty easy to draw here, but the deer tags are getting harder to get each year.

Thanks for the 2012 replys on all the forums, we did have 100% on mule deer with the best bucks coming from the early muzzleloader season.
