Did everyone that hunted Colorado fall off the face of the earth? Come on guys, how did your hunt go and what info can you share with your fellow hunters. By now ya'll are probably starting to think about the draw. Are you wondering about changing areas or seasons. Ask the folks that hunted that area last year how it went. I know that I would like to know how the guys that hunted area 16 during archery season made out. I know that I saw quite a few animals and did get my cow during blackpowder seson. Did see several bulls and quite a few muley does. Come on folks, speak up.

i hunted during the muzzle season near steamboat at saddleback ranch.awsome hunt seen plenty of elk . i got a fair 5x5 bull.i have hunted there twice the best hunt i have been on

I know of the Saddleback Ranch. Glad to hear you had success and enjoyed yourself. It is great to get an animal but having a good time is still most impotant in my book. Nothing like being up around the didvide in September! So are you from CO. or an out-of-state hutner? Either way I am glad you spoke up . Started thinking I was the only club member left hunting Elk in this great state...

My buddy burned 10 points and knocked out a really nice buck and my dad and I connected on a couple cows for the freezer during the later season. Deer populations NW seemed to be quite a bit lower than usual, but could have just been the warm weather was keeping them down.

As far as the deer population, the wasting disease has really hit the deer herds in northern CO. really bad. The numbers have been dwindling for some time now. I remember when you used to be able to get deer tags over the counter, now they are all draw and very limited in most areas. Truly a shame but the experts say it will just have to run its course as there is nothing anyone can do but monitor the situation and hope in time the young deer will build a resistance and start increasing the survival rates to the disease. Glad you all got to put some meat in the freezer and a mount on the wall.
