We are interested in doing a elk and mule deer hunt in Colorodo. This would be with rifles. And no horses. Also do not want to sleep in a tent. Kinda getting old. do not want to ruff it. Can anybody suggest a outfitter that would fit our requirements?

At risk of giving away my favorite hunting spots check out #1- Muledeer Specialists (number one for a reason) and #2- Big Rack Outfitters.  They hunt private leases and you can stay in pretty decent motels if you want, I did.  Both are pretty reasonably priced and work hard to get you into game.  Good luck

What size elk would you be happy with? How much are you willing to spend? More info will get you better answers. Check out the ranching for wildlife ranches on the Colorado fish and game site.

Joe,

Check the Chamber of Commerce of Visitors Bureau in towns where you want to hunt, many of these groups in towns like Meeker, Craig, Steamboat Springs, and Kremmling have listing of active guides and outfitters and also ranches that permit hunting sometimes you can find cabins on the ranches.  If you are thinking southwest Colorado look at Escalante Ranch near Delta, they have packages including use of a cabin, I believe the minimum group size is 4 hunters on the Escalante.  If you are looking for elk meat the northwest area from Kremmling up through Steamboat Sprinhs, Hayden, Craig, and Meeker have had a number of leftover cow permits.
