If I were given the opportunity, I would join the advisory board. There are many things that I would LOVE to see changed, especially in the magazine. I personally am not wealthy and can't afford to spend $5000 to $10000 to go on a hunting trip to Canada, Mexico, Africa, or even Wyoming, Texas, or Utah, etc., and I really don't care about seeing the whole magazine dedicated to "high dollar" hunting trips on private hunting reserves ("wild" game farms). The magazine needs more info on real people, hunting for themselves (without paid guides) in real places such as state game management areas that have stupid rules like " no firearms for deer except on certain days''. I'm sorry if this seems like a rant or like I'm just venting, but I live in south Alabama and work hard for a living and can't afford to take the time off or spend the money for a "hunting trip", and I'm sure that there are many like me who would love to see things about everyday people in the magazine.

Same advice here. I never learned what you did though and everyone who knows - ain't sayin' - or if they are, they want to charge an arm and a leg for the info. The old adage seems to be true... money goes to money.
And that's NOT a shot in your direction Tom.

Did not take it that way, my friend! I just dumped all I could afford, maybe more, in company's sponsered anunnity plan.....stock market based.....lost money for years but ended up great.....I was able to retire at 55 with a net from pension and annunity more than my pay would have been! Then worked as a consultant for some hunting friends who owned an engineerig firm in Atlanta area for 5 or 6 months a year for 4 or 5 years and dumped all that "bonus" money into my hunting account since I otherwise did not need it! Things have turned out quite decent for me! But kids are long gone and grown and I have been single since 94. |
