I have an idea that if you put soda pop in a pie in or on a plate and let the liquid part dry you could then scrape off the residew that would be left and use that as bait. Anyone try this or think it might work?

Too much work go to a local pond and fill a bucket with sunfish then just freze in small packages

A former long-liner from Montana told me that mixing equal parts of honey and grape jelly with a dash of anise makes a good sweet bait for coon. Instead of grape jelly, I boil apples covered in honey along with plum syrup (leftover from my wife making plum jelly) and then add the anise after the mix cools. Anything that emits what I consider a "sickeningly" sweet smell with that hint of anise seems to work on coon and skunk. PC

used to catch crap and suckers in the spring and summer...put'em whole in the freezer..when fall rolled around would take'em all out and grind/chunk them up and put them in steel cans with lids (washed out paint cans work well for this) then just leave them outside until it got too cold, then we stored them in the garage or barn..take one can and pour/dipper some of the soup into the trap set...rebaited every second day..filled our coon and possum quoata every winter...just don't get any on ya...

Don't know if this will help but I used marshmellows to live trap coons when they became a problem around the house.

I trapped 2 cats and a rat b4 I tried Sardines and it worked great.But I didn't know there be two or more coons eating my cat food.The live trap I used went back to the owner.
But the sardines worked.
