Figured I would post a pic of my hunting dog. Was hoping others would do the same. She is 14 months and is a purebreed Chessie. These were her first grouse. Can't wait for duck season to open on Saturday.

Beautiful dog!  What's her name?  Here are my two labs Tikka on top and Kimber on the bottom.  Tikka is 7 1/2 years and Kimber is 22 months.

Great looking dogs hauts!! My dogs name is Chessie. The wife just had to name her. Took her two days to come up with her name. She is a Cheasapeake Bay retriever. Go figure. Tomorrow morning is the opener for ducks. We will see how she does.

Ol Abe still got scars from a male Chessie he didn't agree with....wrong weight class....but it was a draw....had to drag sob's into water and hold their heads under to get them to let go of each others neck....not a fun morning....
Nice looking dawgs all!
Dammit, Ol Abe woke up , saw the Lab pics and I am having to beat him off hunching the putr...

This is Muddy.  She is a Chesepeake.  She is four years old and chomping at the bit to do some retrieving this fall.

Where bouts y'all Chessie owners from???
While I think they are beautiful hard working dawgs, I can find no reason to own one in the south.

Tom, I am in Southeast Idaho. My chessie is my all around dog. Upland and waterfowl. She doesn't mind it when there is ice in the water.

Here is a recent "Hero Photo" of my yellow lab Great Bay Babe or Bay for short on a preseason warmup hunt at Green Mountain Shooting Preserve in Ossipee, NH 09-09-12. Our upland season in NH and Maine open October 1st. Really looking forward to another bird season. Good luck to all.

hsgolfmech, 10-4! Ol Abe ain't real fond of ice and we don't have a lot but get it in SE MO and ARK occassional. He will tear off thru it for a downded duck but he reaaly hates them damm ducks and he really hates the ice....never refused to go tho. The Chessie I have hunted over were beautiful, smart and retrieving machines but all were one person dogs.

Tom
My Chessie is definately a one person dog. She is not fond of hunting with other people or their dogs. She does it but don't like it. The grouse seem to be everywhere this year and we are having a blast. Duck season doesn't start until the 13th of October this year. Having a hard time waiting.
