got some better pics of one of the bucks with the goofy antler
I think it just grew this way, don't see any sign of injury
I would kinda like to see a youth hunter take him out of the gene pool

Opening day of bow season starts tomorrow here in Ohio yall! Good Luck to any other Ohioains out there, and anyone that will be here for the first day (looks like it is going to be a beautiful day to be in a stand!). As always be safe! Hopefully we see the big ones that have filled our dreams, and trail cameras, for the last seven months! |

jbw223 which Stealth Cam do you have? I am looking into getting another trail cam and have been thinking about the Archer's Choice Stealth Cam 8MP, just wondering what you thought about them? |

dclever, I have 3 Stealth cams. 2 are the 3mp model from sportsmans guide, and I am not impressed with them at all, the other is a older Rogue, which is my best camera! They are all infra-red, and I would rather have good flash cams myself. I really don't know anything about the Archers chioice cam, good luck and let me know hoiw things work out.

I haven't really posted any pics lately, I've just been to busy hunting every day. I have killed a ton of deer with a compound bow, and wanted to try to get one with a recurve with no sights. Well, I missed this buck broadside at 13 yards way back in September, and haven't had another oppertunity at him
I have seen him in the distance, but never close enough for a shot since my miss I have passed up a few small bucks and fawns
I did finally get a shot at a doe with the recurve, and I killed my first deer with bare bow!
I put the recurve away and got the compound out, now its time to get serious and hunt for a trophy!

I have to agree with jbw223. I just got my first trail camera for Christmas last year, and it was an Archer's Choice Stealth Cam 8 MP. The first time I put it out, it took a whole 21 photos before the batteries were dead (and 6 of them were of me setting it up.) The second time, I only got 19. I ended up sending it back for a replacement. That model was out of stock, and they ended up sending me a different model. I just got it put out on the 6th when I went out hunting. Haven't had a chance to check it out again yet. I hope my luck is a lot better with this one.
By the way, nice pics there, jbw223! Hope you get a crack at one of those big bruisers. |

I took down the last 3 cameras I had out in the woods yesterday, gun season starts next weekend and there will be a lot of STRANGERS in the spots I hunt, had pics of 1 good buck
I also had pics of a doe with a radio tracking collar on, I have seen her several times before and videoed her once, she has been around along time! The radio collar program ended around her about 4 years ago and I last saw her about a mile down the road 2 years ago, but they are logging at her normal area, must have pushed her down towards my spot!
She has got to be at least 6 years old

The bucks have really been moving around here the last week. I rattled in my first buck of the year friday Oct. 19th, I passed him up at 8 yards. Saturday I rattled in 4 bucks at the same time from different directions, they saw each other and chased each other off, there was 1in the group I would have taken, but I never got a shot. Sunday morning I rattled in 1 and passed, rattled another sunday evening and one on monday evening that I passed, also. I took Tuesday off because it was pouring rain, but Wednesday I rattled in 3 bucks, one right after the other, I decided to shoot on number 3!
I got lots of video of all the deer I rattled in, even a little of this one that I shot, before I decided I should be shooting, not taping. He actually got passed me while I was videoing, but I brought him back with a snort-wheeze. The shot was double lungs and he went about 75 yards!
A nice rack, and a HUGE body!

We've been getting pictures of this guy^^ all summer. A few nights ago my little brother was out in the woods and a group of 5 bucks came by his stand with this big 9 bringing up the rear. My brother said there was one other shooter in the group but he let him pass because he wanted to get a shot at the big one. Long story short this deer ended up walking right underneath his stand, unfortunately the buck stayed facing him the whole time and left walking strait away. Its dissapointing that he wasn't able to get a shot, but at the same time I was really proud of him for trusting in his judgement and not taking an unethical shot. Hopefully he gets another crack at him, if not, maybe I'll get a chance at him when I'm home for Thanksgiving break
Just curious, what do you guys think he'll score??

I was out checking some racoon traps and found a dead buck, he was a monster! I couldn't see any signs of what had killed him, but his body was small like he may have starved to death. Maybe hit by a car or wounded earlier and couldn't eat. I hate the fact that he went that way, but I was sure happy to be the one that came across him. I called the Game Warden and got a possesion tag, although he was very close to my house he wasn't in an area where I had ever put trail cams. I would have loved to see him alive!

Honestly I did not pose him for these and the first 2 are unedited. May never catch the lighting effect like this again. This last one was snaped just before I filled my tag. Fist bow buck for me. |
