Give the local DFG office a call and ask some questions. They might be able to point ya in the right direction. I'm up in Lemoore and have no idea other than Fort Hunter-Liggett to go for hogs.

I bought some plastics for my rhino off a man from Bakersfield. He told me that he hog hunted along some carrot fields near the Grapevine. From what he said exit off the 5 at the pilot truck stop take a left and ask the carrot farmers for permission to hunt. You will need to get a permit to hunt signed they are available on F&G website or google one. If it pans out or doesnt PLEASE let me know Im dying to hunt hogs and I dont have the $400+ to give to Tejon Ranch.
Good Luck,
Jerren

If you do end up hunting near the grapevine there please let us know how it turns out. I have family I see down there at least once a year and wouldn't mind sneaking away to tag a hog for a farmer.

I at one time talked to an outfitter that said he guided hog hunts around Cuyama on the back side of Frazier mountains. He had a huge hog that i'd seen when i hunted his pheasant club. Asked heim where it came from and he told ma a client had shot it, probably a 500 pound hog. I never had the chance to try it but might work out for you. The carrot fields might be a ggod bet, if there are hogs in the area you can bet they tear up their fields. I've been looking for a good place here in Missouri to hunt them, suppossed to be some by Truman Lake but haven't gone yet. Maybe this spring. Good luck and keep us posted.
