Hi and welcome to the forums! How about posting in the new members section with some general info, location, likes, activities, etc Just as an intro. As you may have found out if you've been perusing the forums, these boards and the mag are pretty much what you get for your $. But people here are very knowledgeable and helpful so jump in and play. And don't forget all of the free stuff that'll be jamming your mailbox! (Just kidding, just kidding! ;-) )

I'm glad to be a life member since 87. I do think the club would have saved a lot of negative comments if they would've made existing life members trophy life members. Just think it would been fair paid to be on top then they raise the bar, next will come gold trophy life member! |

That wouldn't have brought in any additional revenue that way. They're in the business of making money, they could care less about being fair to their existing members. |

Like I said before, I like the magazine and the forums. If by chance I get a test item then I consider it as though I win a prize. |

Go back and re-read grandpops post. That's the bible, period. Accept it, get over it and move on. |

A bit disapointing I was "awarded" a lifetime membership "few ever get it" to pay ~$360 for a lifetime memberrship. The only thing I have recived from joining this club has been a book I didn't order and a littany of renew emails. That includes my Magazine ( I only recived 2 issues) I'm not sure why the leadership for NAHC would think I want a lifetime of that treatment for almost 400 bucks. I'm a new hunter trying to learn as much as I can and I found no value here - these forums are nice enough but there are plenty of other free forums out there. free givaways are fine - I'm a professional documentor and could do the reviews justice, especially from a rookie's perspective - but that's not why I joined - I joined for knowledge and was disapontied - most literature is a comercial for gizmos rather than information. Good Luck everyone. Hope my 2c didn't offend and only helped this team make a better product and service. |

I am new also -- waiting for my second issue. I did post my rationale for purchasing a Gerber E-Z open knife for field dressing as an informative entry. It got a few responses on the Gerber and others (e.g. the Wyoming Knife). There is no one right answer. It all depends on how different people weight the different factors and then is complicated by personal preferences beyond the data. You can see what some others like, and why. But "Finepoint" described a tool he made. I collected his comments and he added a picture. The result is a "fact sheet" on how to build it. You can download it as a .pdf file from my last entry. http://www.huntingclub.com/connect/...aft/191742I just joined for two years. I do expect them to send me the magazine as a minimum level of effort from them. I will share info. If I find others doing the same, I will renew. Hope you will count this as a positive experience -- and service improves for you. |

Since becoming a Charter Member in 1977, and after countless moves among three states and eleven cities, I've never missed a single issue. Never received a test item, but always received my mag, guess I'm lucky!!!!!!!!!!! |

I,ve been a LM member since the early 90's. I'm really not real satisfied on the new look of the web site. I guess I am old school. I have won 1 time on the gear give away which was a Magelan GPS and have had a good handfull of field test products with 2 of the better ones being a Hunter revolver knife which I use every year and the latest being a Vanguard 1040 spirit binoculars. I don't like the new way that they do the field test with Stuff Stuff I wish they would go back to the old way. I hope they do not remove the mailing of the magazine. It would be hard to use the electrnic version on the porcelin throne were I do most of the article reading. If ghey do remove mailing the paper magazine they would have all but lost me in the clubs reading. |

IMHO the help I get from the forums is better than the info I get from the magazines, when I get the magazines. I also enjoy the banter ( probably 99% of the time at least ) reading the non hunting threads. The free test items I count as a bonus. |

I'm with you SteelCandy, although when I get it, I do like looking at the mag while in the Oval Office. Solo: Sounds like you've done VERY well in the getting things arena, don't know if I'd protest too much about the site. If you have Firefox and use AdBlock Plus, it's actually not that bad. As for StuffStuff, so far it seems like a massive improvement over the past, practically non-existent system. |
