Yep, read the fine print too. The problem is that the rules keep changing!

I like it. cant believe all the whiners out there, this is my first post on the forum. Been a life member for longer than i can remember. I remember 20 years or so ago i thought about the free stuff, for about a minute. Actually did get some Berger bullets to test. i am not quite shure what someone expects..... it is an informative magazine, if you think every article is gonna be about something YOU like, get your head out of your a**. there are hundreds of thousands of people in this organization, not every thing is talored to YOU. take what you like and leave the rest. If you cant find anything you like,, nothing is gonna please you. Personally every article could be about turkey hunting and i would be happy as he##. they are not , i still like it.

the people we get to be aquainted with on this web site are what makes this all worth while, some of them i do not get along with, some like addministrator wess are about as usefull as a turd in a outhouse hole, but all in all,the peole and the good advice about hunting, trucks, ammo, gear, and even the dissusions about a cold and frosty beer on a hot day,are what we paid to be part of,not the free stuff, not the management of this club who would sell everyone of us out for a extra dollar in there pocket.
we do not allways have to agree, infact we will neaver all agree, but we do have to stick together or wess and his fellow partners will discard us like a used piece of rump wipe, and if they have there way all the old timers will be gone, wess and his fellow web cops will see to that.

HUNTME, I just try to ignore all of the webmasters most of the time. It's the LCERBS that cause the problems and get the webbys involved. Take for example, the thread we had recently deleted, due to some azz wipe who got offended by several posts ( basically yours and mine), and my signature. If he hadn't brought everything to webmaster Shawn's attention, our posts and the thread wouldn't have been deleted. Interestingly enough, Thornton whatever his name was, hasn't been back on any of the forums! Wonder why?

I became a Life Member in the 90"s because I liked what I saw in the package they sent. Yes they promise testing of products, yes I recieved a couple 50 cent items to test. Turned out to be a recruiting gimmic more than anything else. Hell, I never got the cool looking leather jacket they promised, for joining as a life member. I guess that is when I lost hope of anything good to test. The magazine has changed quite a bit....More advertizements as fillers.....and I really miss mingus (what a riot), but I still enjoy the articles. It's really nice to be able to keep up with what the politicions are trying to do to our sport. I am really enjoying the forum. Now I am a Trophy Life Member.......Stupid Me, I should have used the money towards another rifle. My only real issue is the lack of fulfilled promises (including my missing Leather Jacket). I did buy some of the products they sent but quit doing that when the products seemed to be duplicates or over priced items that didn't interest me. I sent them back and they credited my account. Don't know that I will be spending any more money on this club but I will continue to enjoy what I do have access to.

I just hope nahc doesn't. Turn out to stab us life members in the back n use our dues against us. It has happenned bfore. Would b nice if mr. Miller would give some input also . U know he has to be reading this stuff. I was a member of nra at one time and their insurance would not cover the theft of. Seven guns n two bows stolen out of my house by a crackhead. Hell. He even got caught n didn't do a lick of time. Idid get one gun back that a friend found in a pawn shop . Anyway ihope this is not a lost cause.

tmyron. I think the (NRA) insurance only pays if something happens during a bona-fide hunt. I almost bought the NRA's life insurance, but when I "read the fine print", (No offense) I saw that it only paid if i died (Basically got killed) on a bona-fide hunt.Didn't sound to practicle for me, and didn't want to hash out what was considered a "bona-fide" hunt with the NRA. Figured I could spend the same money on a policy practically anywhere else and have it cover me 24/7 for any reason.

Fine print Yes, It is nice to know that people do read it, although I dont remember it saying anything about a guarentee about getting stuff to test, oportunities to yes guarentee I dont remember reading that. I dont know why people think that is a promise that you will get stuff to test. I don't know must just be me, on the other hand I'm with holly, nost questions get asked and answerd before I can ask them. For the most pard buch of great folks here with combined knowledge but a lot of hard core winers.

Well, havent been a member as long, and never got any testing stuff.
But other than that, I'd agree
Mag is mostly articles, the stuff they sent, I bought what I needed, and stopped when it was higher priced copies of the same thing. Shoulda used that "Lifetime membership" fee to buy a rifle instead, but hindsights 20/20.

What I really enjoy is how some of the obviously techno-ignorant here assume that lack of posting indicates being "new". For people that keep hyping forums as the redeeming value of the membership, they need to get more tech-savvy.

No kidding, tell you what Go puchase yor own domain name, pay for your own server and the bulliten board software, Yes you can get it online but you have to pay for them. you see how much that cost. I know because I have been there, yah you can get free forum boards but you dont have the options or the space on them that you do when you pay for it like NAHC does. so yes it is a large site handling a large number of pages, that is a lot of server space and that eguals alot of money. it isnt cheap to publish the 8 mags we get a year, It cost alot of money to operate. Granted this company brings in some cash, but untill we know the exact expences that are put out (overhead and operating cost) verses profit and they are in beisness to make a profit who are we to say that the mag's and board isn't worth the price of the membership do some homework unless you are eighty and just became a life member this boad and the mag cost to maintain and produce will far excead what you paid for your membership.

Deciding as to wether or not the board or magazine isn't worth the price of the membership is supposed to be made BEFORE you pay. NOT AFTER. Whoever originally posted that obviousely made the same foolish mistake too many others have, and they have nobody to blame but themselves. I've paid the dues for membership, LM, AND TLM, and have gotten the same things (SQUAT) as those that just joined and are unhappy. But I didn't, don,t and won't care. This is a hunting club, not double coupon day at the local grocery store. THINK BEFORE YOU ACT! IT'S YOUR MONEY and nobody here can control how you spend or waste it but you. So don't try to blame anybody but yourself.

I'd like to know what qualifies it as a bona-fide hunt? Before I retired i worked a third shift getting off at 0600,. I would take my clothes and gun with me to work, change in the locker room and drive straight to my hunting area. I got 5 bucks in five years straight hunting on gov't land around Lake Benbrook. They changed the area to bowhunting only and that sure made it harder. As far as I am concerned, getting my name drawn and hunting on the Corp of Engineers was as "bona fide" as you can get.

I agree with you, and that is why I steered away. I'm willing to bet that there is no absolute definition for "Bona fide hunt". Simply because it is the insurance companies protocol to avoid payouts as much as possible. And at that, they will not give you a definate explination of 'Bona-fide". They strive to keep it a "GREY AREA" so that they can use it as they need to their benefit, not yours.
