I am a vet and disabled, just my disability is not service related, but I will applaud all who have given in the service of protecting our country except for Kerry, I did serve in the Navy in the south china seas in 1962. aboard the U.S.S. Hancock CVA-19. We flew missions over Nam. We lost 6 people on that cruise. I still have my cruise book. |

i served in nam from sept 65 thru sept 66 just 5 years ago i applied for compensation i am now rated 100 percent as a result i was invited to a deer hunt inhunterdon county nj it was handled by the nwtf chapter at spruce run the hunt was fun but the weather put a dampening on the hunt too hot i hope to be asked again this year they said i would be contacted again i called a local person who helps organize these huntsbut she said there were too many applicants from the wounded warriors program so she didnt think they could get me into the hunts they really dont like nam vets but they love the vets returning now hank k |

It deeply depresses me to see how my generation lacks respect for the veterans before us, and for the veterans today. I would like to take a moment and thank any veteran who reads this forum for all the years of sacrafice they and their families made to set the bar for those of us serving today. They left some big shoes that we have to fill. |

Hi To All, I'm Chuck Irish from Ft. Myers, Fl. I'm a 3 tour Viet Nam Vet (65-68), Life Member "TONKIN GULF YACHT CLUB". I'm also 100% service connected disabled. I've read a lot of good statements in this forum. Thank you all. I just wanted to add, I'm very GLAD the vet's of today are getting all the help they need. But, where the Hell where & are you when the older vet's(Korea/Viet Nam) where in Combat, or when we came home. Even today we still have to FIGHT for what we earned the HARD way! Again I have no hard feelings toward the vet's of today. Get everything you have earned!! Thanks guys for letting me blow off a little steam. Remember, all of us Viet Nam Vet's are "Wacked Out". LOL PS. Hunting FT. Benning, Ga. this fall. If any of you are in the SW. part of Ga., Or hunt Ft. Benning, I'd love to hear from you. My E-address is "WOLVERINE47@comcast.net".
I don't know why this posted Twice. I only clicked on Submit ONCE,sorry. |

One more old Viet Nam vet to hear from. I spent my time in Plieku and Ahn Khe, central highlands. I just recently received a 60 % rateing so I can finally retire and do some things I want to do. I am a proud veteran, and I have spent the last 19 & 1/2 years working at the Beckley, W.V. V.A. Medical center doing my best to help all vets who come through our doors. When I get depressed about folks not likeing us Viet Nam vets, I just think back on all the men I've met and the stories they have shared--we all served our country, and we all gave up things to do it. Let them call us names, we are all brothers and we all know the truth. Now, continue hunting, teach it to the young, God put the animals on this earth for us to enjoy, so , simply I say, enjoy!! This will be my first post so forgive me if I do something wrong. Thank you for your service as well. I am a retired disabled veteran. We are all brothers whether we honor that or not is up to us. I always say as do many vets "All gave some and some gave all" and your post was great and I thank you for it. NAH Life Member, Disabled Veterans Life Member, NRA Member. |

Here is my 2cents worth. I am a 50% disabled vet (Iraq and AFG) who ETSd from active duty, went into the reserves and have been activated the last 5 years. Since I have been activated I have volunteered for 2 deployments. With all that being said I can tell you that every time a VN vet shakes my hand or thanks me for my service it is almost too much for me. Myself and most of my comrades know what those guys went through and it makes us sad/mad. I had the honor of guarding the traveling VN Veteran's Memorial when it came to Carson. It was one of the highest honors of my life. Brothers left notes, mementos and quite a few six packs of beer. If any of you would like the contacts of orgs that serve VN guys too let me know and I will send info. SFC B- out |
