Nice to see so many military on here. My sad story is that I was retired in 1995 after 22 years. NAVY, 100% SC. Moved to OHIO and enjoyed the hunting experience for a few years until my disabilities got the better of me. I still enjoy hunting when I can. I make it a point every year to do all the planning getting gear together and hoping for some light at the end of the tunnel that I can actually go hunting. Its a big letdown most of the time but when it does work out its a memory I can stick in my bag never to forget. Who ever thought something as simple as a trip to the woods would be so important.

I went to Lakehurst also. I was an ABE on the U.S.S. Ranger. now I am disabled 100% through the V.A. and social security, but I still can hunt as there are no people out there. I have turrets  syndrome and panic attacks around crowds, but I can get out with my wife or a friend and go out into the great outdoors as no people as I said. any1 interested in hunting in north central to north west Nebraska email me at rlfree40@yahoo.com. we have lots of deer around here and about 1 mil. turkeys.  thank you to all Vets who put there lifes on the line for our great country

Retired Disabled Vet from Alaska here. Just had major back surgery so I am now at 100% and unsure about the future in hunting. Even with that I just changed my membership in NAHC from year to year to "LIFE". And to the Vietnam Vets, I am post Nam vet, and I salute you.

Hi fellow Disabled hunters
I am also a Vet, 6 years Navy, Vietnam Era (Never in Country). My 100% disability came after the Navy when I was working for my State of Pa. as a psychiatric LPN, working with the most dangerous Clients in the Psych. Hospital.
I have serious back injuries, RSD, Fibromyalgia, had both knees replaced and now type 2 diabetes I have Dr.'s orders not to kneel due to the deterioration of the bones in my legs. This disability is keeping me at home due to the lack of a hunting partner and/or the use of a UTV. generally I did use my 4X4 pick-up to get into the fields by deer runs and had good luck filling my tag, but the inability to kneel or bend over keeps me from dressing out the big game animal. My wife tried to help me out but she doesn't like sitting quietly in the woods, and a few people that I did hunt with have passed away or have medical problems of their own and are in their senior years.
So if there is any members who live near Tunkhannock, Pa. that are willing to help a fellow TLM out I would really appreciate it.
PS: I carry all the permits available in Pa. for the disabled hunter.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL MEMBERS IN THEIR ENDEAVORS, WHATEVER THEY MAY BE!

I spent 6 years in the army as a combat engineer.  I was injured in Iraq.  I have a whole lot of injuries but I love the outdoors, so I try to do what my body will let me.  Look into your states DFW.  I live in Washington and they work real well with you, if you have supporting documents from your doctor.  They also offer discounted hunting license and tags, along with easier access to vehicle restricted access to regular hunters.

Hey eruscher, just wondering if you have a place to hunt on and if you'd concider inviting this crippled old (52 y/o) veteran to join you on a hog hunt/whatever else you have available in S. Texas. I'm in El Paso, but willing to travel if the price is right. You can contact me at jrwas7315@aol.com.

Here in Florida they are pretty good to vet's also. If you are 100% T & P you get all licenses, entry into state parks & preserve's, and other things all FREE.

Hello, I have a 10% serviced connected disability for my shoulder, but I don't consider myself disabled. It does limit me on some things but for the most part I've learned to work around it. I live in SW Georgia.

  "senmec",
Where in SW. Ga. do you live? I lived in & Drove Big Truck out of Atlanta for about 18 yr's before moving here in Ft. Myers, Fl.(SW). Boy was I glade to get out of that ZOO! lol  I'm going to hunt Ft. Benning this fall. Have you ever hunted there? I have a nephew there who flies Blackhawks. He's deployed now and won't be back until 4/12 I think. I've only hunted with him there once, about 3 years ago. We are keeping in touch by E-Mail. He's being a great help in finding areas to hunt. But, It would be nice to hunt with someone too.  I plain on a scouting trip about 9/23. If you are interested let me know. I'm 100% but, I can get around. I have trouble walking long distances though. You can get in touch with me at WOLVERINE47@comcast.net. Well, it's late and I should go. Catch You Later.

In Washington you need at least 30% but the higher the disability percentage the bigger discount you get on fishing and hunting license's and tags. And you can also put in for Disabled Hunter Road Access Entry Program. For those living in Washington state here is the link for the disability permits. https://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov/wdfw/disability_apps.html Also would love to make some new hunting buddies, I live in the olympia area, and am getting into the deer and elk hunting.

wolverine47 and all you vets: I tried to join during the "nam" shit, but was turned down(had too much education). But my oldest son signed up as a Marine(and died as one). I do feel for you guys. I do have some property about 4 hrs from where Wolverine lives. Have enough room for tents, travel trailers, campers, etc. Town abouit 2 min. drive and Springs are about 5 min. drive. Easy access roads. I use an electric cart to go hunting. I admit that I'm not as strong as I used to be, but have ways of getting my deer out of the woods. There was a post about a disabled vet. in the Pasco-Hernando area. I offered to come here. Have not heard from him
Any of you guys interested, let me know.
"senmec" don't believe the line that wolverine47 is feeding you. That area of Ft. M. is heart attack territory(just kidding).
"You" showed us you are not prejudist. Now show us you are not stupid and vote him out.

TERNERA, Thanks for your post. So sorry to hear about you son. I can't think how bad that can be.  Thanks for your offer to hunt on your property. Where are you, or your property. You talked about springs about 5 min's away. Would that be Crystal Springs east of Ocala? How is the Deer & Hog hunting there. I haven't hunted in Florida yet. I hear the deer in northern Fl. are decent size. If I could hunt on someone's land, I'd be happy to share the meat, or what ever.
I'd like to talk to you more about  this subject. Could you send me your contact info. to WOLVERINE47@comcast.net. so I can get in touch with you.
                                              Thanks Again, Chuck Irish

Jim here in far WTX...100% disabled Vet, messed up my back on active duty, 4th surgery in a couple of months. Looking for someone to hunt with within 5 hrs of El Paso. Preferably someone who owns or knows landowners so your not paying big hunting fees. Walking is a problem so ground blinds/ stands are prefered. Love hunting anything on 4 legs and occassionally geese. Any one that can help an old veteran out, give me a shout. jrwas7315@aol.com Thanks to all of you for your service to our country, and God Bless!

Wolverine47, I live in Decatur County. I'm in the corner of Georgia, about 40 miles north of Tallahasee,FL and about 40 miles east of Dothan,AL. I only hunt local areas, usually WMA's. I'm leery hunting places when I don't know who else is out there, but with 2 kids still at home I can't justify joining a hunting club. Good luck at Ft. Benning.

Ternera, I also thank and salute you for your sacrifice. I'd also like some information on your offer so I can make future plans. I'm pretty much asking the same questions already asked. Where are you located? Where is the property located? What are your requirements of the folks that hunt on your property? Stuff like that.

My email is IDMooseMan@IdahoTurboDiesels.com and I could provide my phone number if you want to talk to me to see if I'm someone you'd give permission to hunt your property.

E-mail is on the way. I hope you have "Google Earth". I'm sending you the coordinates of the property, and a phone #.
BTW: Wolverine47 is coming by tomorrow to meet in person and possibly scout.
