Hello everyone.A big thanks to all the Veterans for your service. I did my time in the Air Force. I'm now disabled with severe COPD. I can't hunt much as I am suppose to wear my oxygen when walking over 100 ft. Sure limits what you can enjoy. I do still shoot as much as I can and won the USBR Rimfire Southeastern Regional Championship and the USBR Rimfire National Championship in the Custom and Unlimited Class held in Alabama in May.

I'm a disabled Army Vet. Served 16 years (83-99). My disability is non-service connected. I have incomplete paraplegia from a hunting accident where I sustained a gunshot wound. I am able to ambulate with a cane but not for long distances. When people ask me why I still hunt and I ask them if they were involved in a car accident would they stop driving? It's not the hunting - its the people that lend to accidents. It's great to hear from other Vets as I am deeply involved with the American legion here in Ohio.

BOTH of you are t be commended for your dedication. THANKYOU for your service. I am also retired after 22 years in the Air Force. One of the greatest contributions you make RIGHT NOW is by the example you set for others in your spirit. By NOT giving in like so many others have done in the past. EVERY little bit you can do is an inspiration to others who are just now or maybe(God forbid) may have to deal with simular restricttions in their lives. Check out the web and ask around in here. There are alot of great folks, who may be in your area, who would LOVE the chance to help you out and get you into the woods. For nothing more than the chance to meet a new friend. I am als disabled and am lucky enough to be able to get out with my boys and good friends to hunt. Unselfish folks who do what it takes to get you to and from a stand or hunting spot and get the game out. When I was first recovering from cancer, my boys literally carried me into a ground and set me all up to hunt. they still take me out and help me every season. There are several friends who also take me out. Sometimes, they need to ride me in on a 4 wheeler, others a truck but they always come through and help me get into the woods.
THAT'S WHAT MAKES THIS CLUB AND THIS FORUM GREAT. The things folks do for each other to keep the spirit ad hunt as well as each other going.

hello new to this site. I'm a disabled vet with upper body limitations and low back injury. was USAF jet eng. mech specialist. i have had to relearn several things. was an avid bird hunter, but have almost given it up. i still deer hunt, but like several of you i also have to have someone to hunt with.

hello pegleg i hunt in nj if you can believe that i am going on a hunt in november to an outfitter in north carolina who says he can handle handicapped hunters i told him i need a bedroom on the first floor and i must be driven right up to my blind because im wheelchair dependent he said he could manage that ill let you know after the hunt last year i went on a wounded warriors hunt here in nj so dont give up hank k

Hi my name is John I am also disabled vet 100% PTSD 20% back Injury and 10% knee injury i did 8yrs in the Army with the 101st ABN as a grunt or 11bravo .

im a disabeld vet 100% i was a team leader in the army i was an 11b in afgaistan i broke my back and both my knees and now hunnting is my life allways looking to help other vets out on there hunnting adventure

I am a disabled Nam vet. I am not able to hunt the tall country anymore. I have to stay down in the bottoms. I just love being in the woods. I am able to hunt deer and turkey and squirrel. I am also a life member of the NAFC, our sister club. I want to thank all of my fellow vets for thier service and sacrifice. Sempre Fi.

Hey all, Thanks for all you have sacrificed for this great nation! I'm 80% disabled Navy vet. Medically retired in 05. Aviation Ordnanceman First Class with about 10 years. Mostly shipboard but had a couple of squadron tours. Like most every vet here I don't get to hunt as much as I would like to. With every year it gets more and more difficult. I live in Lebanon, Missouri now and while the benefits aren't the best, they sure aren't the worst. I would like to find someone nearby to hunt with since it's probably not wise for me to be out in the woods alone, even though I enjoy it.

I am a disabeld vet( Nam 11B) but disability is not service related. Simply jhad to meny heart attacks and a back injury. Hunting fishing and camping are done at a much slower pace but still done.

I am a Navy vet retired aviation ordnnanceman but with 40% dis.  I try not too let my disability et me down.  I do have a hard time with sitting in the woods for a day.  It seems that I have to move about every 45 min. or my lower back starts hurt and makes it hard just to stand.

Hello from Idaho.

I'm a 40% service-connected USAF vet.  I've had back surgery (hardware installed front and back), right shoulder surgery, abdominal surgery, slight hearing loss (diminished hearing capacity, but within "normal" parameters), minor head injury, bursitis in the hips, arthritis of the entire spine and both hands and have knee issues as well.  Not service-connected for those conditions.  VA says I don't have enough documentation for service-connection for the above conditions.  I have multiple ratings (10% and 30%) for sinus damage.

I was a Fuels Specialist (flightline worker) 1983 - 1992 with LOX Plant Operator qualification.

I take the wife and kids camping when I can.  The MRS. and I enjoy fishing.  I hunt when I can and the girls are starting to show in interest, again, in going with me.

I thank everyone who did what needed to be done before I arrived and I pray for the well-being of those that are doing it now.  Thank you.  May God bless and keep you from harm.

Yeah here's another one unfortunately .Im 100% with freaking rods and screws in my back....Im waiting on some land to sell otherwise Im probably not going to be able to go...I cant walk very far, have a brace and on 220mgs morphine a day...If I can't get a good cushion'y 4 wheeler I wont be able to go...Defenitely cant drag a dead deer...

moose man Idaho is a good state for Moose my nephew has shot one a year for the last ten years. That's about the only kind of meat they eat.I haven't had any since I left Idaho, I'm talking about Moose meat, I should mention my nephew is part Nez Perce Indian. That's why he has legally shot that many Moose. I went Elk hunting last week end I have a permit to shoot from my wheelchair van here in Oregon I just haven't found the right place to park it to have an elk walk in front of me, I can also shoot a cow elk on my disabled permit
