I haven't found an over abundance of this fine bird, but I've jump a few. The ones I've seen are mostly on State land, but jumped a few on a private hunt club around the Little Capon River Road area. It doesn't take a lot of grouse to keep me happy, just a few a day. I'm not hard to please, just like getting out mostly. Hunteredteacher |

Huntered,
Run any dogs? Or just walk them up? I run Shorthairs, perhaps we could hit some State land together some time. I did finally find some good numbers Friday in the pouring rain and moved 8 birds in 2 hours, but it made for tough work on the dogs and we never did get any good shot opportunities, but then again I really just enjoy watching the dog work for the most part anyway. At any rate, have a good season and enjoy your time outdoors.
Money will buy a fine dog, but only kindness will make him wag his tail.

I don't have any dogs. I just try to walk over them. I know it takes longer and I figure I miss some birds, but any grouse is better than no grouse. Hunteredteacher |

Mostly deer. Possibly spring gobbler. I've heard there is quite a lot of public land around me, but also heard that there's a LOT of others hunting it. |

I am a life memeber also. I live in Mineral Wells WV, just south of Parkersburg. I hang out up in the Ohio forum. Been to 3 of there GT's. We have a lot of fun. We have had several meetings at the Cool Spot in Coolville OH. Meet there for lunch or dinner. Eat and spread a lot of BS.. And yes. A get together of WV lifers, (good-old-boys) would be just allright. |

I am a lifer. I usually hunt in Monroe, Summers, or Mercer Counties. I lived in Princeton a few years back. Still have family there. Currently in the military stationed in Italy. It would be nice to have a get together for all members and maybe hunt one of the national forest if there isn't a farm we could get. bruse
