I'm shooting yesterday and all of a sudden hear a chain saw in our woods...I head out and there is the guy who bought behind us .....open ag field ...standing in the hedge row of our woods...so I start a conversation...he says hes putting up stands and show me his a100 or so feet off the line on the edge of the gully in an oak...then as he starts to walk up the property line and I mean right on it he say here's where my wife's will be..situated 2 ft left of my posted sign....and 150 ft off two other stands I have in our woods...actually in the middle of them...I say you know I have stands here and hes say ya ...and proceeds to point in MY woods and say the deer cross here...so trying to be civil...I relay some of the horror stories with guys around me and then say you'll need my cell #...I see the rain washed it of my signs.....he looks at me like I have 2 heads and I explain NO one tracks on my land with out a call because I will arrest...he takes it...Then Mr B flips ..tells me he knows the guy and they will shoot on our land and drag! ...Says I should have put the hammer down...well I've decided the guy that cuts fire wood with me and I need to take down some bad maple...seeing our Ash is under quarantine...Saturday we start dropping trees..and I will be working that part of the wood lot for the next two weeks..then after we get our deer...we will be back in there for the rest of the bow season...next year there will be a bigger one of these in the middle of those woods..I can see out..no one can see in...he says he's hunting here because there are no deer left on his place 5 miles away |

Sounds like a real beaut of a neighbor, Badger1. Guess back in the day, the neighbors here used to hunt out of a tree house type blind. They built it on their side of the rock wall boundary but facing my property, so they would be shooting INTO my land. Like I said, it's an old stand, falling apart, and the house has been empty & for sale for years now. At least I know where the deer are crossing!! |

Thanks...I made that all by my self and out of card board and tarps....After all this rain and the last 2 months worth..... I just got back from checking on it....Just as dry as can be....I have a over sized upholster rocking/swivel/adjustable office chair in it and that was just as dry as can be as well...... ...I'm going to make a few more 6x8x12 ft ones over the next couple of years....Hell ...I'll just go out and sleep in them and hunt at first light |

Nice little shelter you have there. It really "stinks" when you have to deal w/ neighbors like that. I had one similiar- he felt my backyard was his land too. Lucky for me he sold and moved. I can add stories as well of trespassers who dint think anything wrong with being on the wrong side of posted signs (and I mean hundreds of yards on the wrong side). Good luck. Now about the rental of that comfy stand...? |

I want you to know...that stand is all recycled material and cost me 41.95...because I did have to buy 3 tarps...roofing nails...and Plexiglas...It is a crate that I framed with 2x2's and covered in.....cardboard...then the camo tarps...window and door hinges...are gorilla tape...I layered thick and nail to frame...no noise ....non stop rain and I checked her today and 100% dry.... All seams and nails are sealed with gorilla tape....I'm making more this spring...but 6x8x12...it has a big upholstered swivel rocking office chair with arms in it...2 shelves ...a rug... and a light...the card board is1/4 in. thick and insulates well and sound dampening |

Guys I put a series of pics on here somewhere...think in equipment under blinds on the cheap....easy to make...light weight...I would put an angle on the roof though ...but lifting the center...works as well...also do to are deep snows some type of plat form...I just happened to have 6' 4x4 's that have been hanging around for the last 10 years |

Hmm Cardboard and it survived the rain, have to see how it survives the winter. I'v e seen tarps and plastic tubing and even old rugs used and they lasted some time (tarps if left out are about two years before they break down- depending on how much direct sunlight). still think it looks darn good, and with that chair, nice and comfy |

Deer are already out & about feeding...guess they're preparing for the windy day tomorrow....I won't be tree surfing, be hunting from the ground! Besides the spot I'm hitting tomorrow has low cover, can't put a stand up. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!! |
