Acorns have been dropping for the last two weeks here.  Apple trees put out like crazy this year, that late freeze didn't hurt them.  So that's some good news.

Now for the bad news; back on Aug 20th had a run in with my 29 yr. old, bull in the china shop nephew and a couch.  Wound up getting all the skin on my ring finger on my left hand ripped off.  Been lots of ER trips and doc trips since.  Back to doc again today at 3:30.  Looking like I might luck out and avoid skin graft surgery.  Bad part is, can't shoot my bow yet.

Ouch sorry to hear...I stopped wearing any rings..including my wedding ring 25 or so years ago...just too dangerous for what I do..When the dog bit half my lft pinky off ...I had the surgeon...who also bow hunts...wrap the hand so I could cradle the bow just right between the thumb and index finger....shot a great 8pt like that ...so good luck....pain meds aren't a bad thing....lol

No pain meds for me Badger.  Told them didn't want them and you should have seen the look on the doc's face and the two RN's that were treating me in urgent care.  Just took some Tylenol instead.  I never wear jewelry, rare occasion if I do.  How on earth did your dog happen to bite half your pinky off?

On the other hand, beer would work for pain also.

We went to PA a few years back to daughters masters graduation took the Dogs to a kennel for the first time and 4 days later picked up two chewed up dogs....then my husbands dog  attacked my shepherd 4 days later...in the process tipped off my index finger... well we all went to separate hospitals that time...ears ripped off ....necks torn up and my hand...Had to keep them separated...Mr B. just couldn't put her down she'd been a great dog for 9 yrs......any how there ended up another attack I got them separated but his dog grabbed my lft hand and startd chomping.... I screamed to son she was biting my fingers off about the time I pulled...but not before she got the pinky....We had to have put her down ......health dept called for proof and for the second time described how we took two dogs that you could pull food from their mouths and they'd not look at you twice....they slept together and played non stop for 6 yrs.....got back a psychopath and a traumatized dog
See I had dropped them off and picked them up...and believe me you could see the hate in her eyes when she looked at me...she also in between these two incidents ...looked me in the eye and then grabbed my fore arm...leaving 3 nasty punture wounds...never went to Dr's for that one...I was already on anti's for the index finger...I built a Kennel after that and my  Shepherds will never go any place...if we have to leave

How come you won't be out this year Bob?  And thanks for the round.  Still up in the air rather I'll be able to get out or not.  Finger is healing but real slow as far as I'm concerned.  And this damn finger guard is right in my way.

Kinda early but I'll get the next round of coffee....well I wouldn't mind Irish.......What is it with the no sleep the older I get?.....Oh well 4 more weeks and I'll be sitting in a tree at this hour

I Hope your right as rain by then WTL....I really think this will be a good year....even though there has been and will be plenty of food for them....if cool weather stays they will be more inclined to move during the day...I'm thinking 10 - 2 is going to be a good deep woods bet this year. Here's hoping.......

Keeping my fingers crossed on being able to get out.

Looking pretty good in my area.  They've got food and they haven't been pressured.............yet.

hey its five oclock some where.
WTL, hope your hand heals up. As for me, basicly it looks like time issue. Didnt get the new bow like I planned, and now work etc getting in the way. I should be able to make some of rifle season. I have a very demanding Uncle (Sam) who tends to keep me a little too busy these days. Havent missed an opening day yet...maybe most of the season, but I have gotten out some. Not going to let that change this year (at least trying not to).

I was signed in for a while as nevrnuftime(never enough time), and it seems truer than ever.

Hope you manage to get out there for rifle season.  No rifle in my neck of the woods.  Just bow, shotgun, muzzleloader and late bow.

'Cause besides taxing us to death, NY likes to torture us!  NY Bowhunters & other groups are still trying for the 1st as the opener.

Coffee is on, boy I could use a big cup today. Just to add my .02 worth, I would be in favor of a Oct 1 Opener. It always seems the 15th has all sorts of other things going on(if its a weekend) ... and I'm not going to talk about taxes!??!?!?
saw a nice group o****s the last few days- of course its right next to a development, but hey someone may be sneaking around there in a couple of days. 1 big guy and a smaller six and a four, guess these guys havent started ruttin yet?
