Morning All. Like to help you out Mo, but I have to use a bucket to carry a tune. Yep VK looks like we are in for it clear into tonight, been getting some heavy rain here since just before daylight, they are getting more than us just south of here going ENE. Man I hope this stuff ends soon for a while till the farmers can get their fields tilled and planted anyway. The Deer are eating one fella's wheat as fast as it grows just outside Mingo. later. Good morning ALL. Looks like I might have to get the old wood stove fired up for a couple days. They say it is going to get down to freezeing. Maybe one of these days it will warm up. Then I can run the air. Just can not win far looseing. duckhunter578 Old Hunters Never Die,They Just Run Out of AMMO |

Morning All. Dang I ain't seen this much water down here since 1943, levee repair broke on black river just south of 53 bridge, Qulin and Brosley were being told to look out, Wappapello was at 385 and expected to crest monday at 391, Clearwater Lake close to record level, Castor River going back down for the third time but real slow now, I guess Diversion Channel is out again, water STILL over 51 north of Puxico. Deer are every where dang near in City limits of Puxico. VK, I talked to PeeWee yesterday the fellas around Zalma aren't finding mushrooms worth going for he said one found a half a sandwich baggie of tiny black morels, maybe after water goes down they'll pop up, sure hope so.later Snider from SEMO. |

Morning All. Yes VK, if we can get a few day's of neat weather the mushroom's should pop up quickly, I don't think the places you can look for them on Mingo will be dry enough for a long time tho, you can't be in the places they call ( wilderness area ) which only leaves the flat banks low area to search for them. Wappapello lake crested yesterday morning at 388 ft, 10,000 cfs still pouring out the spillway so it's gonna be some time getting down to a decent level, don't know when the boatramp's will be open but the crappie should be moving into the brushey area's real quick when the water warms a little. later. I'm going to have to go looking for some shrooms this year. I haven't found any for 6 or 7 years now. My wife won't eat them, so I will only have to share with the kids. And they don't eat too much yet. A dozen long stemed "guy" flowers = 12 pack of longneck beers.

Good morning ALL. I hope you all find a lot of good musrooms. Looks like the sun is going to shine today . That should help the musrooms. I will be glad when the water goes down so I can get in some good fishing. duckhunter578 Old Hunters Never Die,They Just Run Out of AMMO |

I told my oldest son last night that we would go looking for shrooms tonight, after I get home from work. He was all excited and then asked "Can I catch bugs?" Well, I couldn't say no. So I guess while I'm looking for fungi, he'll be looking for critters. A dozen long stemed "guy" flowers = 12 pack of longneck beers.
