Hunting land, Council Bluffs area???

I am trying to find some place in the Council Bluffs, Iowa area where I can go hunting. I am an Unemployed Disabled Navy Veteran. And I want to try hunting for Deer, Turkey, Pheasant, Quail, Rabbit, Squirrel, and maybe Feral Hog. And I might even try Duck and/or Goose. I do not have dogs though so I most likely won’t be hunting anything that I would need a dog for, unless someone wants to hunt with me.

 

So since I am on a limited income, I can’t really afford to go very far from the Council Bluffs area. I would like someplace 60 miles or less. The closer the better. So if you are a farmer or property owner, and want to help out a Disabled Veteran Please contact me.

I know that there is some public land on I29 north of Council Bluffs. I think it is south of ottowa and is on the east side of the freeway.

In Ottowa??? On I-29???

Did you mean Onawa, Iowa? Because Ottawa (correct spelling) is south of Des Moines. Maybe 60-70 miles from Des Moines (more or less).

Are there any farmers or private land owners on here from the Council Bluffs area who would let a disabled veteran hunt rabbit, squirrel and deer on their land?

The reason I am trying to find some place near Council Bluffs, is because I am unable to work because of my service connected disability. And so I do not have a lot of money for gas to drive very far from my home. Since I am a disabled veteran I have a life time hunting & fishing license so the only thing I have to worry about buying is deer tags. But if I could get some rabbits and squirrels then at least that would help me put meat in my freezer.
