I've been too busy chasing deer. Can't drink now, heading out to the timber again. Don't want to go out and shoot pink elephants.

Took the boat since the training areas were closed and set up in my second choice of spots since I have not boated into the other area but once and I know that there is some very shallow water getting back through that bay to the creek. I also do not have a spotlight yet and was nervous about that place in the dark. Got snuggled in next to the cattails. Pulled the netting around the boat; not a perfect cammy job, but figurd it would do. Set out the dekes and was ready to go well before shooting time. Windy and warm; upper 50s. Cold front suppossed to be pushing in. Sat for about two hours and only saw 3 that were scooting along fast and getting faster. Usually see a fair amount of wodies adn teal there, but nothing yesterday. Oh well. Shoulda (and had planned to) went today, but I had a foggy head from drinks last night. Gotta not let the trash get in the way, I'm missing hunting time 1stSgt/USMC

Sounds like a fun time anyway. I went after Franklins... on the back side of PTA on the start land. Saw one and that was it. Bruised my heal on the lava rock, saw some wild goats and sheep. Was fun anyway. Jeff Guilloz

What's "Franklins"? Got out for about 45 minututes after work today... saw some hooded mergansers when I got there. Heard a splash and looked up to see a buck jumping into the creek. I was knee deep in mud and then another 6 or so inches of water...not sure how he was making it so well. BUt he spooked my ducks. Nothing else flying except gulls. Oh yeah, drinks are on me for the night. 1stSgt/USMC

I might have shot the deer.......... Might that is.... well, shot at.... Franklins or francols (??) are a hair smaller then a grouse and bigger then a chucker. Look like a grouse to an extent. Thanks for the drinks bro. We killed 2 pigs yesterday and cleaned them. One for make'n Lau Laus and the other to put in the ground and kalua. Saturday we are having a Christmas Luau for the Church. Should be a great time. All are welcome to come. Jeff Guilloz
