Northern MN can be cold during deer season, like 10 degrees.  What gloves would you recommend.

I like those glittens by Manzella. the mitten flips open giving exposed finger tips for better feel when taking a shot. They have a magnet which keeps them open. I didn't like the ones that used velcro. They are the warmest gloves that I have tried and still give you the finger tip control when needed.

They make those glomittens with a small pocket for handwarmers and they work great. I wear a pair of the old army wool gloves under them and my hands have never gotten cold and if they do I simply put a handwarmer in.

I use a hand muff with chemical handwarmer in it, if needed a light pair of gloves. Illinois has a damp cold during hunting season.

I have not made it to the sporting goods store to try using a hand gun while wearing the combo glove mitten.  I did go out practicing today. Temperature near 40 with gusty winds so I used my deer hide thinsullate gloves to shoot my 1911.  I would not want to use any bulkier glove for firing.

With the glomittens I have they fold back over your fingers at the halfway point and you have access to your trigger with either a naked finger or a thin glove if you wear them under the glomittens.
