Nope, I had been back to the world for about a month, reporting to Fort Stewart, GA for my last bit. I do remember the TET offensive, all of the people I had become aquainted with went to the Cholon district of Saigon---none came back. A bit later my helo company was sent to LZ Sally, near Hue to join an airborne unit (this was when airborne went airmobile). |

I got you all beat. WHO HAS SEEN MUCH OF THE NAVY IN THE VIETNAM MOVIES, HISTORY CHANNEL OR ANYTHING ELSE????? OH YEAH, We were there, and we did a lot, but it seems the NAVY was not much of an issue to be remembered on any news media. Swift Boats: NAVY, PBR's: NAVY, PG's: NAVY, DD's:NAVY, BB's: NAVY, A-6 INTRUDERS: NAVY, AR's, AD's, A-4's, F-4 Phantoms, ETC.......Navy was there but all you hear about are the Marines and Army, and the Air Force B-52's. |

Caught rides several rides on PBR's up and down the river. We also had air support from Naval aviators. |
