I'm a new member here, but have been hunting most of my life. I hunt elk and deer, as well as most of the game birds here in Idaho. The most fun thing for me this year is that my ten-year-old son and step-son get to finally hunt birds this year, and they both drew on the fall youth turkey hunt. I'm new to turkey hunting myself, but have a veteran who had offered to take me and the boys out. Does anyone have any pointers to help them bag that first gobbler?

Hello and welcome from NY!

I'm sure you'll get some replies but for your turkey question, you may want to start a thread in the turkey forum.

JEPPJUST, I too am new and coincidently, also from southeast Idaho. I know a few turkeys around here, but have never hunted them.

I hunt elk mostly, but also deer. Coyotes, bears and wolves are my passion.

Hello from Mi. About advice what works in Mi will not help you out there. Just get out and enjoy your children while you can. They grow up so fast and you will never forget the time you spent with them. May they have a great hunt.
