Dear
Joseph
:
Thank
you for contacting me to share your opposition to assault weapons legislation. I respect your opinion
on this important issue and welcome the opportunity to provide my point of view.
Mass
shootings are a serious problem in our country, and I have watched this problem get worse and worse over
the 40 years I have been in public life. From the 1966 shooting rampage at the University of Texas that
killed 14 people and wounded 32 others, to the Newtown massacre that killed 20 children and 6 school
teachers and faculty, I have seen more and more of these killings. I have had families tell me that
they no longer feel safe in a mall, in a movie theater, in their business, and in other public places,
because these deadly weapons are so readily available. These assault weapons too often fall into the
hands of grievance killers, juveniles, gangs, and the deranged.
I
recognize that the Second Amendment provides an individual right to bear arms, but I do not believe that
right is unlimited or that it precludes taking action to prevent mass shootings. Indeed, in the same
Supreme Court decision that recognized the individual right to bear arms
,
District of Columbia v. Heller
, the Court also held that this right,
like other constitutional rights, is not unlimited. That is why assault weapons bans have consistently
been upheld in the courts, both
before and after the
Heller
decision. I believe regulation of these weapons is appropriate.
Once
again, thank you for your letter. Although we may disagree, I appreciate hearing from you and will be
mindful of your thoughts as the debate on this issue continues. If you have any additional comments
or questions, please do not hesitate to contact my Washington, D.C. office at (202) 224-3841.
Sincerely yours,
|

| "The BIG Lie"
The phrase was also used in a report prepared during the war by the United States Office of Strategic Services in describing Hitler's psychological profile:[5][6]
His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.[7]

I was watching a program last year filmed in the UK and they were talking about how dangerous Edinburgh, Scotland was getting. Not because of guns, not even the bad guys had them, but the bad guys were all carrying knoves and were getting pretty good with them. Attacking "things" instead of criminal actions is grandstanding, it is easier to grandstand than to work on solutions Holly, I am surprised that you received a response from her office, I never did when I was Living there, only muY REPUBLICAN congressman ever graced me with a reply. I do remember her climb to power was aided by the murders of Mayor Mosconi and Harvey Milk. The man who killed them only got 7 years. |

Hay Tom good to see ya, I believe I owe you an Apology from another post some time back. I lashed out at your attempt to inject humor into the thread and I should not have, and for that I am Sorry.
Joe, that woman has her ideas of how things should be, and not much will change her mind. But we all must start speaking up, and not ignoring their ignorance. And allow their PC crap to keep the truth down. |

Thanks, I am glad I failed, as it was not my intent to create any hard feels, nor is it ever my intent. All though your attempt was not over the top, we all have those over the top moments. I tend to remember things, that some time I should just move on with, but like to clear it up before I do move on. Sorry to hi-jack your thread Joe, just took to oppertunity to clear my conscious. |

and this is what see said to the cops chasing that loonie in L.A. Topic: Feinstein on Dorner, you have to hear this! Posted: Yesterday at 11:19pm She says take the guns from everybody even the police and he will turn himself in!!!! Feinstein sure isn't Einstein! But I say go for it, then maybe everybody will see how full of bull her flipping ideas are! Feinstein and Boxer Ask Californians to Lay Down Their Weapons During Statewide Manhunt As an ex-Los Angeles police officer killed three people and went on a deadly shooting rampage in a vendetta to punish those he attributed for his firing, California Senators Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer pleaded for calm, and asked both law enforcement and civilians to lay down their weapons. An intense manhunt for Christopher Dorner that aroused fear across several states and Mexico focused late Thursday on Big Bear Lake, about 80 miles east of Los Angeles, where police found a burned-out pickup truck that belonged to the ex-military and former police officer Dorner. Throughout the day, Senators Feinstein and Boxer made desperate pleas for their California constituents to turn in their guns and not confront the crazed gunman because this would be a perfect test of their anti-gun proposals. “The Senators feel the best course of action is to remove all weapons from law enforcement and private citizens so no one else gets hurt,” said a Senate communications intern. “When the gunman realizes that nobody else is armed, he will lay down his weapons and turn himself in…. that’s just human nature.” “I will bring unconventional and asymmetrical warfare to Los Angeles Police Department officers, on or off duty,” said Dorner in his angry manifesto published online. The rant also claimed that: “Unfortunately, I will not be alive to see my name cleared. That’s what this is about, my name. A man is nothing without his name.” Other California lawmakers chimed in on the Senators’ anti-gun stance with Los Angeles’ Democrat Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa saying disarmament was a good idea, except for public officials. Republicans thought the idea was just crazy. “Feinstein and Boxer want everybody to go unarmed as a madman is running a round shooting people,” said a Riverside, CA. alderman. “If that is the truth… I’m never going to San Francisco again… something must be in the water to make them that insane.” Dorner, 33, had multiple weapons including a frivolously banned assault rifle, said Los Angeles police Chief Charlie Beck, who urged the suspect to surrender at an unusual press conference in an underground high security room where police were shaking in their boots. “Of course he knows what he’s doing, we trained him. He was also a member of the Armed Forces,” he said. “It is extremely worrisome and scary.” The Palookaville Post has learned that nearly 10,000-members of the LAPD were dispatched to protect more than 108 potential targets across the region on Thursday. The department also said that the federal government was in fact more dangerous than the lone suspect because their ideas of weapon confiscation can hurt millions of Americans over several generations. Putting down their weapons is simply not an option for all legal gun owners. It is their Constitutional right and moral responsibility to protect their loved ones…. it should be obvious. Ace C |

Barbra Boxer and Diane Feistein's mental stability along with the people who agreed with them should be brought into question by somebody. |

From the portions of Dorner's manifesto that I read, they had to be doing some really good drugs to believe he would have stopped his attacks if everyone else in California had laid down their arms! Damn, it's a shame these two idiots weren't in Big Bear, providing him an opportunity to cap both of them!!!!!! |

Holly, I read that info from The Palookaville Post on another site. When I inquired as to exactly who The Palookaville Post was, and how credible they were nobody could come up with any info about them. One California member said that he believed that they were a spoof site.
I don't think that any info from The Palookaville Post can be taken very seriously. Even the way they cite their source is shaky at best.
“The Senators feel the best course of action is to remove all
weapons from law enforcement and private citizens so no one else gets
hurt,” said a Senate communications intern.

Holly, you are more than welcome to find a place to store(HIDE) you weapons here, around the farm. We'll use the 4600 Ford with the bucket and dig a place for the ammo. Get waterproof boxes. |
