The California-style hand-wringing brought by the killing of two young mountain lions in Half Moon Bay by Fish and Wildlife personnel has prompted a state lawmaker to introduce a bill requiring "state officials to use non-lethal methods" when dealing with mountain lions in residential areas. In addition to "tranquilizing and capturing," other acceptible procedures under the bill are "temporarily possessing, temporarily injuring, marking, attaching to or surgically implanting monitoring or recognition devices, transporting and hazing. These people have no concept of the reasons the young animals roam like that-territory!. When they start to grow up, they have to find a new place to live 'cause the resident animals don't want tresspassers. |
