The other day I said to my wife I thought after busting my a** for 38 years... I owed myself another Vette. She said she wondered how long that was going to take...  lol.   I should be able to pick it up Thursday or Friday... going to be a LONG week.
This will be my 4th.

Talked to my local guy yesterday and he said he had an electron blue coming in that was primo and he'd love to see me in it. He's serviced it since new so I'm VERY comfortable with him telling me it's in perfect condition.

Stopped by this afternoon. He'd JUST gotten it in and they were just starting to go over it. It was on the lift with all the wheels off...

Long story short, it's mine... almost... he wants 3 days to detail it and go over everything. I already insured it and it's just a matter of getting him a bank check. Should have it by the end of the week. Told the wife, she looses the garage early this year.... lol

'03 Corvette, Electron Blue Coupe. LOADED. Standard with 25K miles for the same amount of dollars - out the door, taxes included...

This is *NOT* the car but close, except mine has a black interior and is in better shape.
http://gtcarlot.com/car/71227397

1 of 926 coupes Electron Blue coupes made that year out of a total production of around 35.5k I'm psyched.

Love it! Will you adopt me so I can drive it? I used to drive my brothers in high school. Don't go over the speed limit, cuz that is the next thing that the a-holes in DC will be going after.

lol - sorry man - no one's driven mine but me. Well that's not true, my wife drove the auto I had a few times. But she can't drive a standard so this one's safe... lol

That's one thing I liked. It has a heads up display which shows the speedo on the windshield. Problem with these things is that you can be doing 90 and feel like you haven't even hit 60 yet.

Don't think there's going to be whole lot of sleeping going on this week...

No Erv. The ATV's perfect, just selling that 'cause we sold the camp in the Adirondacks and I don't need it around here.

I think my wife MAY have a note that I typed up that she sent to someone, I'll see tomorrow. I'll PM you my phone number though and you can give me
a ring. Or if long distance costs you $, give me yours and I'll call you.

It's in primo shape except for one small hole in the right front fender from where I rolled it being stupid in a sand pit the first weekend I had it... lol It's about a 1/2" round hole. No biggie really at all.

Dang thing will go anywhere.. it's really an amazing machine.

Going into that second childhood thing again, huh? Hell, I sold some stock so I ordered a new XDS and a new Core 15 AR. I didn't have enough stock to sell for a new truck, though! Supposed to get a little bit of inheritance by the end of the month, but I guess I'll have to use that to get Travis something to drive.

Con Grats Steve, I have always wanted one of those bad boys. Have test driven a couple, just cost the keeps me from buying. Almost bought one once, til had it checked out, and it had some issues, most would not think of, but expendsive to repair.

yeah, repairing them can be costly. That's why I only deal with this guy and buy cars that he "knows" well. But they're the kind of thing that when you get behind the wheel... you just kind of smile. I've had them for probably 12 years and it never left... that's why I knew I'd get another one. Thank heaven this one has a heads up display so hopefully I'll be able to keep track of the mph a bit easier.... Very easy to get to 85 or 90 in them and not even realize it.

If you ever do make the jump, I'd recommend spending a bit more and get a lower mileage car that's been professionally maintained.

RT4, considering that this is his 4th vette I'm guessing that he never got past his first childhood

Stay active and never grow up. You sound a lot like my grandpa, who lived to be 104. He bird hunted with us into his late 80's and generally outwalked all of us.

Steve, I'm guessing that you do a lot of highway driving, since you enjoy them so much. I've spent a good bit of time behind the wheel of several different year models, the last one was an '82 model; and I swear I thought I could feel my azz dragging the streets unless I was out on the Interstate. I've driven a lot of sports cars, so I know they don't ride and handle like a Lincoln, but I've always thought the 'vette was the worst riding one of all. I do know that true 'vette lovers claim that's part of the appeal and why they love 'em so much. I was just wondering if the suspension has improved the ride in the last 30 years????

no, I do both. In my 84, it felt like a true sports car. Felt every bump in the road. But it had the Z1 handling package so that's no shock. Dang thing handled like it was on rails. I suppose you could of lost it in a curve but you would have had to of been being AWFULLY stupid! If I showed you a road I took at 85 in it, you wouldn't believe it. (That was in my younger dumber years and I had a certainly type of authority who would have preferred that I would have stopped.... never saw that "person" again... but I always drove VERY nicely through that town after that! lol )

My '97 was like driving a high performance Buick. I expect the '03 will be pretty much the same only with more toys on the inside. ;-)

Yep. Knew another toy was coming. The decision was a Harley full dresser or a Vette. I figured I'd go with 4 wheels. ;-)

A couple of pics - paid for but need ins and the roads to dry up before I can bring it home. It's so clean he wants to do a professional photo shoot of it for his website. You could eat off of the under carriage. I'll put the link up next week sometime... but here's my new baby...
