I picked up a new book today. The author is Jon Meacham, and the title is Thomas Jefferson~The Art of Power.
Since your one of the resident Jeffersonians I was wondering if you have read it, and if so what did you think of it?
On the cover it says that Meacham is the winner of a Pulitzer prize, but I'm not sure if it's for this book.

I am not sure, I could be listed as a true Jeffersonian. I see and kind of understand the Compromises made by both the Jeffersonians and the Federalist. Let me know what you think about the book, I may have to pick one up. |

Okay, I'll let know, tho it will be a little while. It's second on deck behind a book about the market crash written by a Hibbing Minnesota women. Since Hibbing is only about 45 miles from our home I'm committed to reading that one first. Tho if I get on a reading binge like I did last Summer it will be sooner, rather than later.
I did a little searching threw the book. As it turns out Meachams Pulitzer was awarded to him for a book titled American Lion, which was a biography of Andrew Jackson. He has also written about Franklin.

Hey LD, I would be interested in hearing how this book is also. Jefferson was a brilliant and fascinating man. We are very lucky that he was alive when he was, and had such an influence.
