As some of you may recall, due to a snafu with the club, I mistakenly got "upgraded" to TLM.  I temporarily had access to the TLM section of the board, nothing real exciting from what I saw. So after several emails back and forth, I thought it was straightened out: No more access to the TLM section here, no bills, great!

The other day out of the blue I get a TLM membership box in the mail. Has fliers for the "free stuff" like topos etc, a high gloss magazine kind of book with whitetail facts and different things like, making food plots etc, a folding knife, and a hat.  I didn't look at the knife as I didn't wanna open the box.

So I sent 'em another note asking if they'll send a return shipping label... I'll see what they say but from the glimpse I had into TLM, I think I made the right call not coughing up the additional dough to pay for Ms. Bachmans hunting adventures.

oh, same here. I simply sent them a note about a non-functioning site link and they took it on themselves to "assume" I wanted to enroll... not

Is it not legal that if you get unsolicited stuff thru the mail that you can keep it and fugg the sender?

I do believe that's the case but I figured I'd send the stuff back if they wanted to pay the shipping. I figured if I didn't tell them and offer to send 'em back that it could be considered acceptance of the contract and they would be within their rights to collect the TLM fees.

Update: They sent not only one TLM "kit", but TWO. They replied to keep 'em. So I got a couple of fairly decent hats and (just what I need) two pocket knives. Gave the blades to da boss, she'll use 'em for her bus.

Tom, that's part of their tricky solicitation when they sign us up. If many of us read the terms of our initial agreements you'll find that we actually signed up for the unsolicited product mailings. We agreed to send them back within 30 days if we don't want the offering.

I can't say that, that is the case for all members, but for more recent members like me it is. You can get out of that agreement by contacting the club.
