I am looking for a place to hunt feral pigs...preferably in Central Florida.  I am a military retiree that lives in the Miami area as a result of my job.  I have a sportsman license so "anything goes" for me as I have a license for pretty much any wildlife Florida has to offer.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

My son lives in Lakeland so I would love to come up there to see him and get some hog hunting in as well.  What do you need me to bring?  Do you hunt with shotguns or rifles?  I will monitor this forum a little closer for your reponse.

Notice he said "catch" hogs. I use to have hogs on my property, and a friend used to bay them(3 dogs) and bring them out of the woods tied up. BTW, I would not consider getting a 300 pound wild bore pissed-off with a shotgun. JMO

Going on my limited experience. A shotgun with the right ammo will drop even a 400 lb boar, heck if they kill bigger pigs with .22s why wouldn't a 12 gauge kill one? Shot placement and proper ammo.
I have taken several feral hogs with a 12 gauge, the 1st was using 3 inch turkey rounds ( 4 shot ) and was not planned but the pig ran through our set up and trashed the turkey decoy. When I go specifically for hogs I use slugs though.

Hey Big Dawg,

Where can I get some this "hog stabbin'" action?  I have 28 US Army Airborne exits with 27 satisfactory landings, I am up for a little adrenaline extreme sports action.  Just tell me where I need to be and when, I will do my very best to be there.  I have seen what you describe on Pursuit channel....but I have never done it "real live action" style...in the words of the Turtle Man.

Hey jbagley4,

I wanted to see if the running hogd with dogs offer was still open.  I am ready whenever you give me the word.  I will be in Orlando Monday, 7 Jan., if you want to link up and discuss a possible future hunting trip.  Just respond to this message if you want to meet up somewhere to talk.  Thanks.

Sorry for the delayed reply... call Denis Crews 863-781-1577. I believe he charges $100 per opportunity (morning and evening are two opportunities) for free range hogs. You will have a very GOOD opportunity since he keeps the feeders full . You may say Danielle from Naples referred you

He has property close to Avon Park.

I've hunted with Denis for many years. And let me know when you book and I might tag along.
