Can one of my fellow wisconsiner's explain the earn a buck program? I am rather confused on the whole thing. From the way i read it, it only applies to deer hunting in the CWD zones, and no where else.

Also, bonus permits/tags... are they still issued or no?

Not sure on the earn-a-buck program, I've been able to avoid that mess so far. However bonus tags are still able to be purchased as long as the unit your hunting has not sold out. They are available until sold out on a unit by unit basis. Check the DNR web page http://dnr.wi.gov/permits/bonusavai...ility.html for your unit.

I hunt a regular deer unit, so I haven't had to study the CWD reg's.

I believe CWD zones have unlimited free tags still and the earn-a-buck only applies for these free tags. So, if you use your regular tag I think its not earn-a-buck. I don't really hunt the CWD zones much but read it several weeks ago. Please, don't take my word on it, re-read if you have to or call the DNR. If their goal was to make things confusing, they have succeeded in that over the past several years.

unless it has changed you can get four cwd tags a day ,for every doe you shoot they give you a earn a buck sticker that alows you to shoot a buck for each one, thus wiping out the population ,fortunately most real sportsmen see through this, filling your freezer is on thing, but some jackasses are having a contest on who can get the most bucks. i hunt properties both in and out of cwd areas i chose to be out whenever possible
