Hello everyone. It has been a looong time since I've posted on this forum. It was back when the first format was active. I don't even remember my old user name. I recognize some of the user names on here now.

I am Chairman for the Grays Harbor Chapter of The Washington Waterfowl Assoc. (WWA), waduck.org  Are any of you members? I don't recall many of you as being waterfowlers.

I am also on the Civilan Advisory Group for the Olympic-Willapa Hills Wildlife Area.

If any of you are interested in getting involved with the WWA just let me know and I'll fix you up.

Thanks,

Kurt Snyder

I'm wanting to get into some waterfowl in Washington while i have the chance. I'm stationed at JBLM but deployed now to miss this upcoming season, I will have to wait until the 2013 season before i can get a shot at some birds.

JM, I just retired at JBLM in May after 37 years of combined Military and civilian service. Let me know when you get back and we can hook up for a seaduck hunt or maybe an eastern Wa puddle or diver hunt. Email me and I'll get you on my contact list of hunters.

Take things easy over there and keep your head down. See ya when you return!

Hey Kurt,

Welcome back.
I remember you well from before. I believe your previous username was simply "Kurt Snyder".

While I do live in the area, I am not a member.  I'm pretty ignorant on waterfowling, and would be a babe in the woods and would need to be shown the ropes.  Unfortunately, I'm not even aware of what's available for waterfowl hunting in our area.

Once again, welcome back and good luck to ya'.

Kurt, thanks for the info on the other thread. I'd like to get some information on WWA. I'm assuming they have a website?

Elkaholic...Before this last year, I had only gone pass shooting ducks once with my brother. We would shoot them as they flew up the canal towards the wildlife refuge. This last year I hit the ducks hard and let me tell you that IT IS A BLAST! You should definitely get out and do it!

Cougar125, You can visit us at www.waduck.org. We are a very old and dedicated organization. All volunteer so we don't have anyplace to put our money and efforts except wildfowl conservation.

Hope to see ya soon

Thanks for the info, guys.

And thank you for the offer, Kurt.  Maybe when things settle down a bit I can take you up on it.  With so much going on right now, I even have to pass on elk hunting this year.

Yeah it is just plain bad, but it's just been one of those years.  As with having to miss the GT last month, I've got other priorities this fall.

No worries, though.  Several of us will be applying for elk tags in Wyoming for 2013 (I already bought my preference point for this year).  With our preference points we'll most certainly draw our tags, and we'll have the luxury of taking either sex.
