Exactly what the subject says!! Next year I will be back up there, hopefully in time for hunting season to start.
Will be looking to get together with other hunters to share some hunts with.
I'm heavy into upland game birds and waterfowl since big game is often a one shot wonder, but that doesn't mean I don't do it...I just do a lot of pre-season scouting.
If anybody would mind sharing, what decoy spreads work the best? Here in Central Cali I'm using Mallards, Widgeon, Green-Wing Teal, Northern Shovelors, Pintail, and coot. Is there anything I should add to my spread? Anything I should take out? This will be for next season mind you.
Hope to hear from you guys.

First, congratulations. Whidbey is a fun island. Don't know about the bird situation but there are lots of deer. I havn't hunted the islands yet. It's hard to get permission for most people. There are lots of game birds in GMU 667 where i hunt, but that's a little south of you. The islands should be a great place to hunt if you can find a spot away from people, that's why I go south. If you every want to go scouting for big game PM me & I will point you in the direction I go or would be happy to scout with you.

September 15 is the day I should be back on Whidbey. No later than the 23, but hopefully around the 15th. |

Sound like you're going to have a good spread. Lots of public areas to hunt, even on Whidbey. Penn Cove is closed because it's lined with anti hunters and several of the other coves residences are working on it.
Welcome back to the great state of WA! |

Well that just sucks. Maybe I'll have to buy a boat or make friends with somebody who has a boat to get out on the water. |

If you can afford it a boat is the way to go. You are going to be close to Polnell Point. Good place for GE when the winds are good. You also have the north west side which can be great if the winds are calm. Skagit is just up the road a ways. The hunting there isn't what it used to be but is still worth a look. Totally tidal!

And I've been moved in since the 17th! Seeing as how I paid first month, last month, and a security deposit, I have to wait until payday to get my licenses. |

Maybe I should check this forum more. Between duckhuntingchat.com, hunting-washington.com, and a few others, this is my least visited forum. LoL. JosBorne28 - Check your PMs. |
