Well, hopefully by this time Saturday I will be letting an arrow fly on a nice, fat doe.  I decided to leave the crossbow at home this year and go back to the old, trusty Freddy Bear compound.

I pulled the trail camera from my hunting spot last night, and when I checked the memory card I was very pleased to see a group of 5 baldies that came by just before 7:00 a.m. Sunday.  The next time I visit that spot, I will be watching the sun rise with a bow in my hand, scanning the woods for that group of does...

And man, these cooler mornings we've been having sure are making it difficult to stay focused at work.

Good luck on the freezer meat , know what you mean with the cool mornings bringing thoughts of hunting . Felt good for mind but I think by Thursday overnight lows will warm a tad again . Keep the ice ready for Sat.

...tick, tick tick......

Ok, I am ready for Friday to get the heck out of my way so I can go.

I just gathered up all my stuff and packed it all in my backpack.  Just need to add a water and a couple of snacks and I am all set.

Was all set to go out Saturday, made plans, got some new gear, talked about it with the wife and then " BOOM " wife says how can you go hunting I have to work Saturday. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Forgot all about her working. So Monday will be my opening day. How did everyone do on Saturday? Anyone get one?

I finally tagged a decent sized doe just after 3:00 today. Good to have some meat in the freezer. Now I can relax and hunt for some antlers.

Heading out in this rain and wind for my girlfriend's first day out. Set up the blind last night and dressed it up with some local flora to help it to blend in some. We both took off Monday too so we'll rest up tomorrow and be at it again with some better weather.

Hope we see something...

Good luck to all!!!
