Chemo and radiation start this coming Monday. 5 weeks of chemo and 5 and a half weeks of radiation will shrink this thing to almost nothing. Then a 4 week break. Then surgery to remove whats left. Then I will be cancer free. I am a lucky man and will find a way to pay this forward. Thanks Bill,Scott, Paul, and Matt for the prayers and support.

Thanks again guys. It means a lot. Paul, Tommy (my youngest) only hunts a few times a year. He's killed 3 deer over is young career. My oldest, Kenny, (you never met him, you met Phil and Tommy at SGT. Bill's) hunted last year and took a young un. His first time hunting with me in 5 years. Of course Phil was in love with the outdoors before he died. None of us have hunted deer this year. I haven't because of the cancer, and the boys haven't because I haven't.

Paul, thats the 3rd one, right? Ya got pics of the other two?? I still don't think I'm gonna be able to hunt this year. But we were hit so hard by EHD if there is a year to miss, this would be a good one. I did manage to get out during the early antlerless season in September for 1 morning hunt. That was before this illness was diagnosed. I saw 2 bucks of course, and 1 doe snuck through on me and I got no shot. And I did kill a fall turkey Oct 2nd. Haven't been hunting since. But there is next year, and I'm thankful that I will have a chance at it.

Thanks CG. Had blood work done, saw the chemo Doc, Did my 2nd round of chemo(only 3 more to go), and started my 2nd week of radiation today( only 22 more radiation treatments to go). Doc said everything is looking real good. Go to U of M tomorrow to consult with the surgeon and find when thats gonna happen, then back home for radiation.

This thing is curable, and I'm gonna beat it.

Wt, it's good to hear from ya. Miss the Tree Rat Gt's, but attendance kinda dwindled down. Paul, nice bucks, and those spikes eat better.

Did the 3rd round of chemo yesterday. oOnly 2 to go. Lab work came back great and the Doc said I'm doing great. As of right this minute I still have my hair too. I still struggle with nausea. The meds help, but I still get it. Just not as bad.

I ty
hank all of you for the prayers and support. Please keep em coming.

saw this on jim's fb page today......

in about 3wks he is going to be having his surgery to remove what is left of his cancer. right now he is healing from his bouts of chemo and radiation. he is starting to take in liquids and its very painful. he is getting IV's at cancer center twice a week to keep hydrated.
also would like to say that his surgery is no joking matter. it is more dangerous than open heart surgery and will take from 4 to 7 hours to do.

jim saw his doctor yesterday and had the feed tube pulled. things are looking on the up and up. he is on a very low fat diet--only 50grams of fat a day--and he says the 1st thing he had yesterday after the doc said it was ok was a cheese burger from burger king....lol

he still gets tired easy but he hopes that will get better as time goes.

jimbo we are still in your corner and the prayers are still going yours and sherri's way
