will soon be the proud owner of my own hunting land in the u p.was told the other day that all the paperwork is going to lawyer to be done.just hope it's all done before hunting season gets here.it's a 23+acre parcel that adjoins my buddies property.this will give us a total of 80acres to enjoy.all wooded with really good cover.mostly dry with a couple small wet area of less then 2acres.have seen alot of birds, deer and has bear sign on it.a gasline splits the 2 properties and will make a great area for foodplots.just have to get there and see where to put a stand and/or blind.can't wait to get there.

Congratulations, sounds like a nice piece of property. What side of the U.P. are you in?
I hunt in the western side, in Ontonagon County. I hope its not in the area that got burned,
although, if its close to it you might have a few more extra animals on the place, that moved there
to get away from the fire that happed a little earlier this year.

it's in schoollcraft county east of gulliver and about 2 mi north of rt2.i think the fire was north of there.it might make the deer migration happen sooner this year then before.i will be up there for the 3rd season for bear this year and may stay for the opening fo deer season.

Congratulations on your new purchase.  That general area is good for deer.  The stretch of US-2 just east of Gulliver is one of those spots where I slow down when traveling late in the day during the fall months because of a couple close encounters of the antlered kind.
