I DO NOT HAVE TIME TO HUNT FOR TURKEY'S ON MY OWN. SO I AM LOOKING FOR AN OUTFITTER THAT WILL TAKE MY OUT AND CALL. I HAVE NO SKILLS IN TURKEY HUNTING, BUT I CAN PULL THE TRIGGER THOUGH. ANY INFO WOULD BE VERY HELPFULL.

I am going on a hunt the 28th in Gilroy with Western Wildlife Adventures. I just did a lot of reseach on the internet and found them. They are only 2-3 hours away from my house. This way I can spend the night in Gilroy and be able to drive home the next day after the hunt. They have had 4 hunters this year and 3 have taken nice 9-10 inch toms and the other passed on some jakes and went home empty handed. I will pass on the jakes until the late afternoon then it is game on. I am not going to pay and not bring home any meat for the BBQ. Hopfully I will be able to post some sucess pictures. 

If you don't mind my asking, what is it running ya for a hunt?

They are going for $500. They will buy me breakfast at Denny's and have a sack lunch and water for me. The guide will take me out, put us in a blind, and call for me. All I have to do is aim strait and be as still as possible. This will be my first real Turkey hunt so I am very excited.

Yesterday I decided I was coming up to Mariposa to visit my buddy that has property up here. Damned turkey gobbles woke me up around 0530 so I got up and went and found one. Had this guy in the bag by 0630!

Got this bird this morning. OH!!! I dropped the fan, feet, beard, and wings off at the taxidermist to get done on my way home. Individual hairs on the beard from yesterday measured over 12" long!!

Got my first turkey this morning in Gilroy with WESTERN WILDLIFE ADVENTURES. I should be on their web site by tomorrow night with some other pictures. I was back at the truck before 7am. Saw about 3 Toms, 4 Jakes, and 6 hens. We heard about 7 more Toms gobbling on the other side of the field. What a great time and I now have the fever. Sorry about the pics but this site sucks at downloading them, so you will have to see my turkey at the outfitters web site. 

Nothing yet on their site yet brother. I did stop and talk to Brian (the taxi) today and he asked how you did. He gave me a few tips also on how to do your fan if you're going to do what your guide told you ya could.

Thanks Salbers! I have been looking on the first page and have not seen it. Now I know why the picture is on the last page. Cougar and I are going out this weekend and we could get lucky.

Luck is definitely the word GH! I'll show you turkeys, guarantee that...just depends on if they are on private/posted land or not. o.O

BUHS you been talking to Everett? He was the one to start calling me Jake because those are the only turkey's that I can and have killed. Got both fans drying now and I will be putting them in my office. Maybe this fall I can actually get a TOM with a bigger beard.
